2001 Honda Cityfly clr125 Restoration

Recommended Posts

Got round to attaching the rear side covers, grab handle and luggage rack - nothing really done to these parts, just a good clean and polish with the bumper and trim gel...could've definitely done more to the grab handle as it's looking a bit shabby compared to the rest of the bike, easy enough to do in the future though.

@Ben_Jammin420 - great result. The big question is whether it started nicely and what it runs like? You’ve done a great job and documenting your progress has provided a programme of activities which will guide others through an end to end restoration. I have definitely enjoyed following your progress and hope to there myself at some point. Thanks for taking us on your journey.

Very well done, the bike looks so much better.

You and I are very different people though. My bike is in similar condition to what yours was at the beginning. I just choose to look the other way 😂

How much did it cost you all in all?

Thanks Mealexme,

The whole project started as just a tidy up hobby which spiralled into a full resto lol - and total cost was around £120 for paint and replacing a couple of damaged/missing parts - oh yeah and around1500 hours of work over the year.

Well worth it seeing the final result :)

£120?

You've done very well on that budget!

Fifteen hundred hours over the year??? That's like over 4 hours a day, every single day. Including Christmas.

Great result; the bike looks completely amazing.

No jokes although I was slightly off on the budget as forgot to include the purchases by the person i'm doing this resto for - so actual costs were more around the £200-£250 area

The hours are very approximated as I calculated them by taking an average of 1 or 2 months work - but mostly I was doing around 6 - 10hrs Sat/Sun and then at least 2 hours on week nights :)

it does turn over and all electrics seem to be working - Although i'ts not yet been started nor been for a ride....... so if it all falls apart i'll delete the entire post and start again lol :)

Cheers all!! 👍

  • 4 months later...

Great work dude!

A lot of hours turn this "bulletproof" soldier as it went out from factory.

I own also one 2001 and i made a small "lifting" on 2016 but not with OEM look.

Unfortunately, i didn't hold pictures from that process but i can show you the final result.

Still is my daily bike for commuting and i try desperately to find a R FR turn indicator...

Also, i would like a better rear - more hard - suspension (wilbers has some options).
