tim9
So Today was quite a hot day, I just took the bike out to get fuel the scenic route. about 15 mins I wasn't keeping an eye on the engine temp. Got off at home and coolant all over the place. I had a look at the engine tempo an it was pretty much maxed out. Do you think this is an issue or was it just because it's such a hot day? Mississippi Bullfrog
Bikes are designed to run in much hotter climates than ours. That sounds like you've got a problem which needs sorting out.
tim9
Ok, so I'm thinking there a leak somewhere, possibly the radiator cap or the hoses. Anyone have any other ideas?
Mississippi Bullfrog
Clean it up, refill the coolant, let it idle and watch for leaks. Keep an eye on the gauge. From the photo it looks like the cap is where it's coming from.
RideWithStyles
Only a few things. the main problem which these 390's are notorious for the head gaskets. judging by the colour and that it hasn't spit you off the bike its most likely. But the others are which might also be the reason a head gasket fails in the first place is broken fan, failed thermo sensor/switch, blocked hoses and passages including the jacket. would be nice if we got and update.
