Rear light works. Brightly ?

Pull front lever light goes out.

Depress foot brake nothing happens

Put new switch on front lever

Still no brake lights

Any ideas please

  • Solution

I'd have a look at the wire harness by the light and see if something is corroded, disconnected or otherwise damaged.

If all looks ok I would trace the wires back along the loom checking for insulation worn away due to rubbing or corrosion etc

Is that a haiku?

Sounds like it could be a bad earth, but maybe two separate issues.  Maybe just focus on the front brake first.

Being a chopper the harness might be home brewed, look up a standard harness for ( I’m guessing ) a XS650 heritage.

is the bike new to you or is this a problem that has just happened?

The wires in the light holder were the problem. Thanks you were right.👍👍
