Interference Fit Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 What model was it? - Honda CBR650R w/sport pack When did you buy it and how much did it cost? - September 2023, £9k Good points? - Build quality, fit & finish, 4 cyl engine smooth as butter, pulls clean from idle and has perfect fuelling. Comfy* and spacious* for a sports bike. Looks stunning and is great value for money. Very light clutch, very economical 60 mpg (if taking it easy), sounds great even with stock exhaust, plenty of go in the upper rev range. *Unless you're 6'4 and find it a little cramped, albeit it's one of the most spacious of the middleweight sports bikes. Bad points? - LCD display looks a little behind the times. Cable throttle is old tech, overly sensitive off-idle and means the quick shifter is up-only. There's some seat/bar vibes/buzz between 6k-7k (bar end weights and grip puppies sorted the bars, seat not really an issue). The clutch bite at the end of lever travel and needs some adjusting. The rear brake is poor and the front brake lacks initial bite but stops very well with a hard squeeze. The rear hugger offers little protection from road dirt. Would you get another? - Honda, yes. Sports bike, no. The Itch is now scratched but I want something more spacious and upright next (getting old). 5 Quote
Simon Davey Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 That's seriously smart, I love the stance of the front end, it's all muscle looking. 1 Quote

Thanks, I think it's a lovely design and I have zero regrets buying it and would do so again if I could turn back the clock. Edited December 22, 2023 by Interference Fit 2 Quote
daveinlim Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 It's a lovely looking bike. I've a cbr600f and contemplating changing for the same reasons. Suzuki gsxs1000f is high on my list of potentials as it's more upright but still got some sporty looks. 2 Quote
Pie man Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 I had a CBR600F4, absolutely brilliant bike, toured around the alps in 2006. Probably one of the best bikes I've owned, although second to my R1. Quote
Takanta Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I really like that, nice bike , looks smart. Quote
JohnJive650 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I have one of these. They're a superb bike. Ordered a 2024 eclutch model but due to delays, it's going to be March 2025 delivery. In the UK I'm not going to ride in Autumn / Winter Quote
Motomike1400 Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 Ordered the E-clutch CBR650R in red yesterday (23rd October, take delivery on Tuesday). It was in stock at Miles Kingsport, Hull. Good deal on p/x R1250R...no quibbles. 1 Quote

Always had good service at MilesKS...First ever bike was Honda 250T Dream when the original Miles was on Selby Street back in 1978. Enjoyed my test ride on the demo on Wednesday, just up to Paull and the bumpy back roads to Keyingham. Completely different ride from the big stuff I usually have, have to keep the CBR650R in a gear that will pick up when required, instead of being lazy and letting the torque do all the work. Doubt I'd tour on it even to B&Bs, it's for fun on twisties. Might see you around once you get yours too. Cheers. 1 Quote
Shasel Posted March 14 Posted March 14 So how comfortable is the riding position? I am very interested in one but I am highly unlikely to be able to get to somewhere to try one out before I could order it. Quote

To me the two most uncomfortable bikes ever in existence was the hus startpilon and the Honda rebel, the bar, seat, peg placements are just ridiculous yet some people buy them? Dont have to look at a dealer at a new example, a decent sized used dealer will no doubt have one of either that gen or the last, or the first, very little changes between gens in the rider triangle. At worst a handle bar or peg or seat unit to change to fit well. if you buying new, always test ride one before. Quote
