Mississippi Bullfrog Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Anyone taking part in this? I'm either joining a Cheshire group joining at Knutsford, or going solo down to Birmingham and riding North from there. Probably take the cbf due to fuel range. I can see petrol pumps having big queues. 1 Quote
S-Westerly Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 I was going to but now I'm having to collect my brother from Heathrow as we are going to a funeral on Monday. 1 Quote
Bungleaio Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Yeah I’m going from the motorcycle museum up. I’m not going all the way as I think it will be chaos up there so I’ll be peeling off and going camping near Preston. 1 Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted June 8, 2024 Author Posted June 8, 2024 I have a very very sore arse. And my water bottle has leaked in the top box. But what a brilliant day. Absolute chaos at times with so many bikes, but brilliant fun and everybody being happy. 8 Quote
Bungleaio Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 Such an incredibly humbling experience. So pleased that I could take part. picture upside down as per normal 7 Quote

Mississippi Bullfrog Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 The moment at Knutsford when Si met up with Dave's wife so she could ride pillion was pretty amazing. 2 Quote

At some points the motorway was lined with people. All ages were out in the sunshine braving a chilly wind just be part of it. Kids in cars were thrilled when bikes pulled a bit closer and gave them a wave. 4 Quote
oldgrump Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 Here's a couple of photo's of the ride yesterday, as we headed to Scotland, as @Mississippi Bullfrog said every bridge was packed!!! 6 Quote
Hornets nest Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Apparently the BBC employed a production company to film the whole ride and will be producing a documentary about the ride. According to the local press (South Cumbria Mail). It also did say in the article that 200,000 people lined the route. 1 Quote

I was with a group they approached but they were focusing on the more flamboyantly attired, whereas my kit is generally on the scruffy end of things. The guy with a shirt covered in boobs got interviewed. 1 Quote
