The other day I was using an old cart (actually old push bike trailer) to move logs around.  Long story I had to take the valve out of the tyre. Then the valve, to let the air out, it was then I remembered some 20 years ago I had slimed the tube.

The Enfield I have has tubes tyres and given recent post on puncture repairs on the road.  Bike is 90% road use the only punctures I have had on other bikes have been nails.

The thought came to my mind is there a reason I cannot slime my Himalayan tubes/ tyres?

I've used aerosol tyre sealant in tubed tyres and never had any problems.

Sealant in tubed tyres was thought to be a bad idea because there's a chance of the tube moving inside the tyre.

That said, there are now companies making preventive sealant to put into tubed tyres.

The worst that can happen is it doesn't work and the tyre deflates, which it would do anyway if you didn't have the sealant in.

I used slime in my wife's cycle tyres. She ran over a thorn which created a leak. I found the slime did nothing to fix the leak, which was a tiny hole, but it had completely wrecked the valve so I ended up fitting a new tube anyway.

I've avoided it since.
