Dammt Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Hi, what do you think about the shoes alpinestar faster -3 ? Quote
Simon Davey Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Hi @Dammt, that's a very narrowly targeted question. However, someone may have them and offer an opinion. Meanwhile, welcome to the forum. Quote
Nick the wanderer Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Hi, looks like more of a summer shoe/ ankle boot. They won't keep your feet dry but look good. 1 Quote
S-Westerly Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Strictly for summer use only by the look of them. I prefer to keep my feet warm and dry so won't be using myself. Quote
Capt Sisko Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 (edited) I have used this type of short summer weight boot and as long as you accept they are what they are there's now't wrong with them. BUT if you're after ultimate protection, warmth and weather protection look elsewhere. One tip if you do like this shorter style of boot, make sure your riding trousers & socks are long enough when in the sat position. Asides from lettering an annoying draught up your leg, a gap of bare leg looks really naff! Edited December 2, 2024 by Capt Sisko Quote
bonio Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Personally, I wouldn't have them. I've always believed your boot should end mid-shin, as this gives you the most of chance of breaking your leg instead of wrecking your ankle or your knee. Also, I'm the kind of person whose laces always come undone, and I wouldn't want a loose lace getting tangled in the chain. Not a issue if you have a shaft drive, I guess. 1 Quote
Pie man Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 They wouldn't look out of place on a basket ball court, but I wouldn't wear them for touring. 1 Quote
