S-Westerly Posted Sunday at 20:06 Posted Sunday at 20:06 GBH where i come from. OK the van driver was a knob but the biker is a dick. Stopping then punching a guy? Out of order in my humble opinion. 3 Quote

bud Posted Sunday at 22:45 Posted Sunday at 22:45 That's out of order. Yes the van driver is a knob head. But when he pulled alongside me, i would have let him past. It's not worth it if you end up under a van. 4 Quote
onesea Posted Monday at 05:46 Author Posted Monday at 05:46 (edited) @bud @Hairsy@S-Westerly fully agree. however, if your telling me you the thought has never crossed your mind possibly when: A car does pretty much the same, as in the video on a motorway looking at you forcing you to slow (Enfield won’t go much quicker than 70 and with a car in front had no where to go if it could) so I force the car behind to slow who is pushing trying not to let the other car in. Being left little choice but to go into side of a lorry. It was rush hour and there was not allot of space even at 70mph. Watching the events unfold the offending car wanted to come off at next junction, it seems I was soft option in his way. You are forced on to the verge because the car coming the other way decides to over take a couple of cyclists or pass a forest pony - sometimes flashing head lights, sometimes not, just pretend not to see you. Forced to stop emergency stop at road narrowing or passing parked car when it’s your priority but cars decide to drive through, not uncommon at multiple place round the forest. Best was whilst shouting “next time you get in my way I will knock you off”, Cars knowingly pulling out of side road at you and tell you that it’s there right of way. At this junction locally it can be scarily common, some one did it to an ambulance on lights https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/18066267.brockenhurst-crash-three-hurt-including-two-paramedics/ It seems they think the railway crossing changes road priority? For me the motorway incident has been one off so far. The others, they happen rarely but occasionally I still get caught out. I do try and ride/ drive defensively etc. Agree there is probably more to the story than in the video, and yes it is assault and the rider is in the wrong and foolish for publicising said video. However if the thought has never crossed your a far better person than me. Edited Monday at 05:53 by onesea 2 Quote
S-Westerly Posted Monday at 08:05 Posted Monday at 08:05 I've often wished I had a death ray that would vapourise any offending vehicle. It would probably solve the UK population issue and put me in Genghis Khans category for mass murder. Fortunately I don't. 2 1 Quote

However if the thought has never crossed your a far better person than me. The only time I ever got that angry was when a car tried to force me into oncoming traffic. Coming up to some traffic lights with two lanes of traffic on both sides of the road. I was in the right lane going straight ahead. Car on left was in the lane to turn left. As the traffic moved off he thought he could get in front of me from the left lane. He didn't and just kept moving over to the right. The only choice I had was to stop on the other side of the white line, or be knocked off. I caught up to him at the next roundabout. Pulled alongside him, and called him a few choice words. Saying you could have killed me. I was really angry. But the terrified look on his face. And the fact he was trying to climb into the passenger seat calmed me down. Not really my proudest moment. 3 Quote

Those moments never are, when you get an apologetic reaction its easier to let it go, every one can have a bad day. When they are non apologetic, or blame you or become aggressive, then it's not so easy... Attached map shows live local traffic, some added by me as Google wouldn't keep on bigger scale. I know there are back roads but they are just as full of irritated locals trying to get about around the tourists. That means lot's of bad tempered idiot drivers, I would rather stay home or go sailing. To day housework takes priority, encouraged by forecast of rain and the fact its a bank holiday and idiots go afloat as well... Edited Monday at 10:26 by onesea 2 Quote
Davidtav Posted Monday at 16:46 Posted Monday at 16:46 It isn’t something I would have done. But I think the biker was extremely provoked. Van driver acted in a dangerous manner. Deserved what he got. 1 Quote
Stu Posted Monday at 17:30 Posted Monday at 17:30 Totally deserved if you ask me! He will now think twice about doing it again which could have easily saved someone's life from an ar*ehole using his van as a weapon He f**ked around and found out 2 Quote

ColinWB Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago No excuse for the biker’s violence. Two wrongs don’t make a right. 2 Quote
