The owners group rate it as a top bike but it just didn’t work for me.
The owners on the groups have never owned a BMW

@Mickly It was me that created the Tags GPX and just added it to the post
To do that you need GPX loader from Garmin which is pretty easy to use to for the future
It's only mods and admin that can mark as solution and only in pitstop at the min maybe I should enable it in other forums to for these reasons

Awesome bit of racing this weekend!
Some not so great results and some unexpected results too!
Bridewell and Irwin seem to be pushing their luck on those Ducati's!
Bad start from vickers but a good finish in the end and Hicky's luck is just getting worse!

I agree, I have stopped watching the WSBK as its just a one man race

I find it much easier to create an account at https://www.myrouteapp.com/
Create your routes there then send them straight to the 590
Its free to use and you can subscribe if you really want which gives acccess to a few extra tools and different maps
Sadly you won't be able to send routes via bluetooth from your phone like you can with the zumo XT so you would be stuck with a cable and a PC connection but you would have to do that anyway

I know this is old thread... but I just found a great way to save a shed load of money on insurance!!!
Move out of London I had to cancel the old one and set up a new one as the system had a moment over the address change.
New policy fully comp £105. The woman at Bennetts actually gasped at the difference.
I actually cried.
And the before price?

I only use my bike as a toy and this last year a change in job meant I had less time to get out on the bike!
I am more of a fair weather rider too but this last year so far I have managed 6.5k and 5.5k the year before
On the FJR I used to barely manage 3k! but I really didn't enjoy that bike at all
I got the BM with 14k on the clocks at 4 years old so averaged 3.5k in that time so very low for a touring bike its now got over 26k on the clocks

I had to travel from near Southend to Donnington a few weekends ago, and wanted a simple app that I could put in start and finish points. I wanted to put in places to go through on the way (way points?), but without having to stop and acknowledge that I'd been through. I just wanted to 'see' them, not visit them.
Google maps couldn't do it, Waze couldn't do it and lots of others needed me to have a pc and transfer to my mobile etc.
If you can make it as simple to change the route as google maps pc version does, once start point and destination are input, it'd be a winner for me.
As @fullscreenaging raging says MyRoute App does this already

we all have different opinions, I'm not about to change mine. if it was important a safety feature it would be mandatory within the various regulations governing safety equipment and clothing. obviously it is not.
are you advocating that everyone wears gear that zips together?
So on that analagy because its not governed by regulations its not important! What a load of tosh!
Im not saying everyone wears zip together its everyones own opinion but stating its not important is a massive statement that is just totally wrong!
Having whitnessed first hand a crash and a long slide on my back where the leather jacket rode up and wore the inside of the jacket and the zip holding the jacket and torusers together to the point where I had to cut the connecting zip as it was so badly worn that it wouldn't come undone I will always zip togather and I will always recommend to wear zip together clothing
But as clothing is not governed by regs its not important is it
To the OP buy what you want and be carefull of what advice you take as some of it is just peoples opinions! they aren't always right despite thinking they always are!
There is nothing wrong with having as much protection as you want. Its best to be well protected and not need it then not protected and need it
The type of crash will always dictaate the protection you need but every single crash is different

Boots gloves leathers jackets trousers back protectors are all great safety features but not mandatory

so they say. but its hardly likely when all the momentum is forward... you don't often come off feet first.
There is no law in how you crash and how you slide!
Just one small example where a rider is sliding on his arse feet first which could easily be on his back

Zipping clothes together is more about preventing water ingress. Maybe cold air to a lesser extent. Not really a safety feature
Actually its to stop jackets riding up in a slide

Hi and welcoem to the forum
No you would be fine
The only roads you can't use are M roads ie Motorways
Just a heads up if you didnt know that if you are traveling between different work places then you need business insurance! your policy will only cover you to and from a single place of work
