Can 16 years olds ride 2 stroke 50cc bikes?

45mph not 30 and inherently more cool?

They seem to sell for same price as regular 125cc just older.

    No!

16 year olds can only ride a Moped with speed range of 25 km/h to 45 km/h which is about 28mph

Not sure when this changed as it used to be 50kmh which is 31mph

@Stuis this the mumsnet thing you were on about,  have you packed a kettle you may need it to scare the wolves or kittens or something small and furry.

I thought about it but no where to plug it in as I will have the air fryer.....

  3. Totally out of order what he did

Although I didn't see the point in filtering there!

There was a couple of cars and it wasn't busy :?

    Her attitude didn't help either

  4. The wife is looking at what stuff we have and need for our holiday in a couple of weeks and as such is making a list of what to take!

I think the list speaks for itself 🤦

We the same, have looked at it but prob going to wait a few yrs before taking the plunge, will likely always have a second car, but after first hand experience with a small battery that won't be an option.

I liked the E brake setting, dosent half slow you down and its progressive so slower you go the more it slows, can see brake pads lasting a long time, it also had a mechanical hand brake, I don't like electric handbrakes 😂

I would get one tomorrow if they was cheaper

The cost you pay for a decent one just outweighs any savings

What was the car?, when I took the leaf back he asked how was it, great to drive but crap range, Yea we get that alot said he 😂

    Skoda Enyaq

An electric car would be more than enough range for me as all I do is go to work and back! We use the wife's car for everything else but even then we could probably get away with an electric car for her for 99% of the time

Err I was driving round town

Which is worse for it stop start can just sap the juice

but the point I was making I bet the majority of people drive to work then back and thats it with the odd trip out on a weekend which a range of 150-200 miles will be sufficient between charges

I drove to Grimsby and back in my bosses car then he went home for the full weekend before returning on Monday before he could charge it

Grimsby and back took about 30% battery with all the heating on as normal and I put it in sports mode for a while which made no difference to the range

When he first got it he left work on the night with 275 miles remaining went home then football then returned to work the nest day with 278 miles remaining

  8. Drove my first electric car the other week!

I was very impressed to be honest

Everyone seems to get hung up on the range when most people just drive around the town

They are like anything running on a battery the more you use the electrics the more you will lose off the range!

Also the range will fluctuate depending on how you are driving too

Yeah i mentioned the plate but the photo is misleading really, just wanted to show where they sit, usually they sit all in the caliper and can move better. did add a very slight bit of grease this time

Its been a long time since I had a bike where the pads are in the caliper my most recent bikes all have a similar design to that one

Anyway it can only be the pistons not retracting back in the caliper or the slides sticking thats causing it to bind

I have twisted a seal when assembling calipers in the past which can cause them to stick too

Yeah I had new rubbers and greased inside well. The photo above is not mine and just to show the ledge for the pads. its off ebay. (i should have said)

Will try the test though, may treat her to new hoses

The ledge for the pads is normal although there is usually a metal/stainless steel bit that goes on there

Its always wise to put a touch of copper grease on there too but that won't be the reason the brakes are sticking

Also check that the brake lever is returning to the correct position and not sticking on slightly

Forget the hoses until you have tried everything else although it can happen where they collapse its pretty rare and I am a firm believer in checking everything before spending money as you could just be chasing a fault

this stays on for caliper clean or if the wheel stays on. the lip at the back towards the gromit is where they sit, but a steel shiny plate sits there.

a mate asked if too much fluid in the res, id  not considererd that at all

I would put something in the caliper between the pads and pump the brake and see if the piston retracts once released. You will notice as whatever you put in you should easily be able to take it out again.

Did you clean out the rubbers where the slides go and did you grease them back up? they look a bit dry in that pic
