    paint

you dont NEED a air compressor and spray gun for a good finish this was done with cans http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r71/stu_m_photos/th_2012-12-14085345.jpg It is all about the preparation you would need to thin it down with the correct thinners for the paint If you have enough paint you could try this paint it on something with a brush and sand it down with wet and dry once it has dried properly to get all the brush marks out use a really fine wet and dry though start with about 800 grit and get finer finish with 1600 once its nice and flat with no brush marks get a tin of lacquer/clear coat halfords one is ok not the best and its cheap...then give it 2 or 3 coats and see how it comes out If you prep it right and sand it really flat it might turn out OK the lacquer/clear will give it its shine back dont worry about it been sanded try it you never know it may work it may not but you have the paint now so you have to do something with it all spraying does is put a nice even thin coat on with no brush marks
  11. havent got a clue on comfort
  12. personally I would keep it as its the only cooling you have on a bandit!
  13. your clutch is slipping then first thing to try is to adjust the clutch cable if no joy sounds like you will need new friction plates

thats basically what I posted above! baring the charging bit! once they get hot and damaged they wont perform as they should when cold which give the impression that the cold has killed them I also see it on my car when the temp drops my battery is on the way out and when its below about 4 degrees when I start my car I get a brake warning on the dash which is because the voltage has dropped at my ABS module when starting once running all is fine when its warmer all is fine too the battery is on its way out and cant deliver the power when cold hence the low voltage warning all it takes for a battery to get too hot is a nice hot day and a lot of charge from starting it can soon take its toll on little bike batteries not to mention how close they can be to the engine...well mine is with it been a V twin I have a big arse cylinder right next to it Its probably a mixture of both killing batteries hot starts it cold finishes it off plus most bikers dont ride or charge their battery in winter which isnt good for them and the sulphate anyway as you said earlier lets keep on topic
  15. just bloody camp with the two boys and let kim and little un in the room

got anything to back it up?? http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/arti ... ttery_life http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/arti ... mperatures Like I said heat kills them but when you need the power when its cold it cant deliver it as it hasn't got it any more batteries are kept at room temp to keep them at their best so they don't work too hard and deliver all available power
  17. from what you save on labour at a garage buy some new fork springs to match your weight and you will have a nice riding bike
  18. what do you mean it goes straight in to gear without stalling? do you mean you can put the bike in gear and let the clutch fully out and the bike will still run? when you ride it do the revs increase but you don't seem to pick up speed?

Not true I always thought it was the cold that kills them until recently its actually the heat that kills the battery but you don't notice until it gets cold and the battery cant deliver the required amps The cold actually stops a battery discharging quickly but yeah it could be a dead battery if you have cooked it with a duff reg/rec or charging components although the charging system should be putting out a steady charge all the time most voltages rise when you rev them but you should have atleast a constant 12.5 ideally 14.4 check all wiring as suggested make sure you have a good connection on everything
  20. You can't go wrong with them really Not sure on the service interval but I would at least change the oil every 4k or every year and use a mid range semi synthetic
  21. so i did a little research for ya if you havent already Suzuki used this oil cooler on one bike and that was the bandit from 96 - 2003! http://www.ronayers.com/WhereUsed/N/993 ... 6600-26E00 so this will fit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-GSF-60 ... 1e74573cc7
  22. this was it not sure if the 600 and 1200 are interchangeable though http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-GSF120 ... 43aef1404e
  23. My brother got a new one off ebay not suzuki though but it was about £70 and was spot on sorry not sure who made it though!
  24. what do you want to know yes the 3TJ is the one to have for racing a mate of mine races one reliability is pretty good you can fit an R6 rear shock and blue spot front brake calipers If the motor does give up its almost always the big end bearings as the shells don't get enough oil and you will spin a shell and probably weld it to the crank
