  1. Really? never seen it and thats where I live......... ....well thats my street name anyway
  2. we know what where doing already
  3. I think you should read the thread as he is getting fuel to the carb so fuel tap is fine
  4. as already mentioned its his daily ride it was working one day then the next no worky
  5. yeah double check that float height as if there isnt enough fuel in there it wont pick it up I would be tempted to raise it really high so its full of fuel and possibly running out the overflow just to rule it out the floats not sticking either is it?
  6. this may help with the principle of how a carb works carbs are a bit backwards and the jet actually picks up the fuel the jet is the start of the fuel flow to the air intake the jet restricts how much fuel is picked up http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2b/Carburetor.svg/639px-Carburetor.svg.png
  7. when you say you can see through the jet is this when removed? can you see through the tube it screws on to this is where the fuel is drawn though by the air causing a vacuum as it rushes through the inlet...is it blocked on the inlet side of the carb
  8. It sounds to me like the fuel isnt been drawn from the float bowl up to the jet
  9. have you got some carb cleaner? to give it a good clean with?
  10. damn Tango was right I wouldn't even bother looking at the coils then
  11. No your right but stranger things have happened at sea just ruling it out to be honest if its one coil it could be the problem
  12. hence this what I posted above
  13. No you check the tension in the same place all the time at the bottom and you turn the wheel checking the tension until you find the tightest part at the bottom
  14. Not always sometimes they run off one coil and both plugs will spark at the same time but they are timed so you have a wasted spark on the cylinder thats not firing just like on IL4 with two coils although majority of Vtwins have 2 coils
  15. yup your supposed to check the chain tension on the tightest part of the chain and if it has tight spots I would say its new chain time although saying that you can usually hear and feel any tight spots as you ride
  16. I wouldn't touch anything else now and see if the chain tension has sorted it, it could be that it was too loose and causing a lot of back lash when you powered on and off
  17. in that video are you moving the wheel back and forth in gear? if so that amount of movement is about right
  18. question did the bike just stop running? did you go out to it and it just wouldnt start or was you playing about with the carb then it wouldnt start? also have you tried replacing the plugs is both plugs run off the same coil? if so it could be a coil problem

    Main Fuse?

check the fuse holder too if its all green and furred up it could add to the problem
  20. you will get a bit of backlash in the gearbox the sprocket will move while in gear check for tight spots in the chain check cush drive rubbers it could be too much slack in the chain also check rear wheel bearings
  21. No Stu is ... £13 or £15 if you pay through paypal Plus you get a weekend camping and the rally thrown in for that I think he means for watching Vicki put the tent up ohjay is all paid up already
  22. Your getting a spark as it runs with starting fluid so no worries with that
  23. Can you remove the jet? If so remove it and make sure its not blocked
  24. Stu

    Main Fuse?

buy one as it wont be the last time you need it
  25. Stu

    Bandit Bobber

I would double check on that as I know the MOT law has just changed for cars and idiot lights whether it affects bikes is a different thing and whether its one of those "if its fitted it must work" rules is a different matter too worth looking it up IMO
