Yes on the length, but think about different strokes, a similar shock, that is meant to move half as far due to being geared (cam/link whatever) differently, will be twice as hard as a shock off a similar use bike and vice versa. SO if you get a shock off a bike that has a real hard rear set up, but put the shock on a bike that has half as much travel, it will be soft on that bike. Make sense? you need to think of spring rates and things like that other wise you could be in a worse position once you fit a different shock If you can afford it fit a hagon they dont cost too much and are pretty good for the road

    PS asda are doing 4 litres of castrol semi synthetic for £12 I have just bought some more and used this stuff for the last 5 years with no clutch slip

    not this again!! There is a big thread on this with some great reading put it this way I use car oil in my bike you only have to watch some of the very expensive oils that have friction modifiers in them and these are more expensive then bike oil anyway

  9. ps have you actually checked for a spark? remove the plug and warm it up on a gas ring on the cooker
  10. check all your connections where you have been working first as all that has changed is the battery and the bulb in the headlight? you could have easily knocked something

No attitude its the way you read it I know my stuff when it comes to bikes! like I said majority dont have a crank sensor there is some that do wait to see what bike it is like i first asked and then find out if it has one oh and if they have one they are built in to the crank case out the way

  13. cars arent bikes!!! I have an injected bike and have worked on countless injected bikes and not come across a crank sensor yet they use cam sensors as they are high up out of harms way ie water! they are delicate stuff as you should know putting it low down in line with all the shit is just asking for trouble!! your wasting your time comparing them to cars they arent cars they are bikes!

  19. As above it could be the road salt causing it to corrode get some oil on it to keep it moving freely

    Is it chain or shaft drive? could it be related to that at all seems odd what about taking it out of gear and switching it off to try and pin point it it might not be engine related off road of course

    it would have to be sitting a long time to get marks on the cylinder walls from the rings like as long as uk190's car that marks are caused by condensation and lack of lubrication in the bores and been stood a LONG time starting it up and just letting the fan kick in isnt enough to burn off all the condensation and would cause more condensation

    dont start it it does more harm then good if you are going to lay it up then just keep it on charge and leave it till its time to come out again
