    Sv650 Problems!

how long has it been sat before you tried staring it again you might have a partial blockage in the carbs i think yours is on carbs anyway

    is this normal?

you can get a bit of oil blown in to the airbox from the crank case breather double check your oil level just to make sure its not too full nothing to worry about if its a bit but massive amounts will be a problem!!
  8. mine is a mixture of a home made bracket and one of the mounts that comes with the sat nav!! http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/download/file.php?id=2387
  9. to be honest i think its gone out the window now i was going to do it but things have changed and funds wont allow now
  10. what bike you riding ? are you seeing your elbow? if so you might just need a set of mirrow spacers but then again it wont hurt haveing a wider view of the road
  11. i know a few people who have them and rate them highly

    charging

the bike wont draw more charge from the charger nor will it put power to the charger well not enough to do damage anyway
  13. eh up mick nah the grips wont affect it at all mate and as for the milage i havent adjusted it yet
  14. wire it direct to the battery thats what i have done with mine thats how they are designed to be wired in mick dont worry about draining the battery if you leave it on cos i cant really see you leaving your bike unattended with your tomtom on full view!!!!

    1st gear stalling?

sounds like the switch isn't working right after been stood for a period of time could just be sticking slightly so not releasing properly
  16. if it is carb icing then you can get a fuel additive called pro FST which will stop it throughout the winter months
  17. the zx6 is prone to carb icing
  18. if the plug is wet it may be too wet to start the bike spark plugs can take some drying i would try a new plug first also check air filter if it has one!!

    Headlight issue

sounds like a break in the wiring system have you got a wiring diagram and a multimeter? its time to start visually checking wires and doing a continuity test to find out where the break is i once had it where a wire had rubbed through and watter had got in and corroded the wire until it broke down and couldn't carry enough electricity to power the high beam i snipped a section out and soldered a new wire in there and all was well
  22. you dont have a cam belt on a bike well apart from ducati's you have a cam chain the cam chain tensioner is exactly that its to tension the cam chain as the chain wears the tensioner will self adjust keeping it at the correct tension if it doesnt adjust properly you will get ralle personally i dont think its this as it would do it all the time not just when cold heat or oil will not affect how much tension it puts on the chain
  23. ive heard that the inserts do absorb the condensation and they do tend to need drying out over time maybe this is the case
  24. also has it only started to do it since the temp has dropped ?
  25. Its only got around 18'000 ish, although it has been thrown down a road at about 30mph well the valve clearances need checking and adjust if neccesary at 42000km (26000 miles) or 42 months whichever comes first thats high if you ask me!!! so not there yet but might be worth a check
