    Which engine oil ?

it only gets worse as it heats up but the hotter it gets the more warped the plates will become mine has been like it for 3 years now it doesnt mean it will get worse quickly just over time to get it in to neutral try blipping the throttle or just tap it in to neutral just before you come to a stop

    Which engine oil ?

get a semi synthetic oil 10/40 but it wont solve the problem chances are the clutch basket is worn or the steel plates are warped slightly which causes the drag if you sit at traffic lights with the clutch pulled in and in gear it will get worse as the heat genarated by the drag will cause the plates to expand and drag more my clutch basket is worn badly from hard starts its the tabs on the clutch plates that cause notches in the basket and the plates dont release properly i stripped mine and smoothed the notches out but still doing it just not as bad i will be putting new steal plates in plus a new friction plates which will sort the problem out altogether the only way to check to see which of the two it is, is to strip and inspect just hope your not unlucky like me and its both!!!!
  17. theres a fair few places in beverley that are pretty good i forget their names as i dont use them theres a few in hull too but aslong as you stay away from spares unlimited on hessle road you will be fine
  18. just remove the cams its only a two minute job and would make things a bit easier but then you would have to remove them anyway to release the cam chain

    winter service time!!!

made some good progress today new bearings fitted to the head stock before the engine goes in so its easy to turn the frame over new bearing outer race to be fitted in to the frame gently tapped level with the fram with a copper mallet the used the old outer race to push it all the way home and as its an interference fit i turned the old race upside down so was easy to get back out inner race to be fitted to the steering stem again the old inner race was used to push the bearing on i cut a slot in this one though as its an interference fit again and used a length of tube to go over the sterring stem and on to the inner race to make sure the bearing goes on nice and square screw driver used to pry open the old inner race in the slot i made to aid removal 2 mins work cutting a slot makes life a lot easier all that was put to one side while engine was degreased and dried off then rear exhaust stub was fitted with new gasket this has to go on before engine fitted as you just cant get in!! engine all clean and awaiting frame rear shock fitted to frame as its easier then with the frame in then frame put over engine while it was still on the floor as it makes lining up the engine much easier then swingarm fitted and rear suspension hooked up although the swingarm may have to come off again due to me forgetting something then back to the headstock...steering stem pushed through top bearing fitted along with dust seal locking nuts then the top yolk then forks and wheels fitted to finish off tomorrow wiring loom should be fitted and a few other bits and bobs and maybe start to polish up my down pipes to make them nice and shiny to match the new exhausts ps sorry about pic quality it was all done on my mobile
