  1. personally i dont think there is any difference as the rivette you use is the same quality as the rest of them so no weaker then the rest you only have to turn the ends of the rivette over to stop the side plate coming off which is a interference fit too so is already tight!!
  2. pics will help but if the overall thickness is the same then it should be fine
  3. with the right tools and a manual anyone can do it its just following the steps if you have already had the head off twice then you will be fine doing majority of things
  4. i think thats for pm and not for public view (if we are on the same wave length )
  5. all sliders are replacable are they titanium sliders?
  6. get prices for new piston and liner and rings and all the other bits you will need you will need to get it over bored liner installed it will be an interference fit so will have to be done in a shop they arent that expensive though weigh up the costs of each before you decide you mind find its a lot cheaper to do it yourself if you have the right tools and not having to buy them look through your repair manual and see what the job entails

  8. what joins each side plate of the chain to the next ? a rivette so its not continouse till you join the two ends together with the rivette which is the same as you doing it yourself with the right tools!
  9. a split link can easily fall off you should join the chain with a rivette miles safer the ends get turned over and the side plate cant come off ive had split links come off a chain but luckily didnt come apart the side plate stayed where it should chains arent continouse the have two ends until you fit them to the bike and add a link with a rivette making them continouse
