all the ones you have posted are fuel filters and can be used but not sure if the pic of the broken part is a fuel filter hard to see from the pics does the top pipe run to the fuel tank ? and the easiest way is smell it and your answer will be there

could be a blocked fuel line stopping the fuel flowing freely to the carb or gummed up carb

I....didn't see that It wasn't there all day, it was there at 10.30am but it had gone by about 2pm and it would only have got you between the Cat and Buxton err i didnt see that either watches post closely!!!

i would hire a bike the examiner should be up to date with his bikes and know which bikes are ok for test from the factory they only go for factory specs and if its not as factory your insurance will be void unless you state what modifications you have done to get the extra ooompphhh and with a void insurance you cant do your test
