  1. I actually stopped the bike, did as you have, and said to myself, "no, that's just wrong"....... I'll give it a go next ride. Many thanks Stu.
  2. Ahhhh right, I'm with you. That's probably why the wind was coming under it
  3. Meeeeeee, especially as I've only been back on a bike for 4 weeks after 23 years. So, desperate to ride doesn't even come close
  4. Cheers @Gerontious My textiles have zip out liners and lots of vents. I love my Bering jacket, but it's going to be a bit heavy for summer.
  5. Yeah, my winter gear keeps me toasty, I don't even use the heated grips. I just thought my leathers would be ok, but, nope.
  6. I'm already looking at summer textiles
  7. I think I need to ride the bike more. I've literally clicked my 3rd hour this morning. For the whole hour, the needle was right at the bottom, until I gave a few gears the 10k treatment 5 minutes before home, then whilst it was idling at home using what was left in the carb's (fuel turned off) I noticed the temperature was up a third. It was only 1 degree, and it might be that I've only ridden it in temperature less than 5/6 degrees.....
  8. Update: I managed to get an OE screen on eBay for £25, which meant I could then replace the double bubble and fit one of those cheap Chinese spoilers, which I have now done. Went out for an hour this morning looking forward to not feeling like I'm on a 747 wingtip. Alas, the difference is minimal. There's a definite difference, but not as much as I had hoped. Before, and after.
  9. Thanks for taking the time good people. I was out in my leathers for about 90 minutes, yup, fecking cold!! OK, it was only 1 degree C, but now I know. They're also pretty snug, I last wore them 23 years ago, I seem to have grown into them a little
  10. At air temperature of 6 degrees, the water temperature gauge barely moves, unless I give it a good caning. I would still expect the gauge to rise under normal load though.
  11. Well, after the second ride of my bike, I thought I'd check the chain... Oops...... This is before and after, I know it's boring, but, as per thread, it's what I did to my bike today. Looks like another couple of good cleans needed to get the rest of that muck off. I didn't even know it had a DID chain. I'm ashamed to confess, it was much easier to spin that back wheel after a clean and lube.
  12. Cheers @GerontiousI'll let you know.
  13. My memory of leather jeans and jacket is the sweat Does anyone wear theirs when it's cold, like 2-3 degrees kinda cold? I like my textiles, but thinking about wearing leathers for an hours ride tomorrow morning. Cheers
  14. What about giving these guys a call? https://www.classicbikeshop.co.uk/electrical-lighting/headlamp/complete.html
  15. I'm following because I have a similar issue, but I have carbs. The clue I have from this is my temperature gauge not rising, so I'll look into that first.
  16. Awesome! Congratulations on your new ride.
  17. Welcome aboard
  18. Welcome, and good luck Tuesday
  19. Nope. I'll have to Bing it
  20. Good evening Currently leaning on a hay bale, planning an hour out on the bike Sunday morning. Bikes are far more fun, but not as tasty...
  21. Hello and welcome
  22. You're not wrong!! I'll be guzzling WD40 at this rate.
  23. Cheers @RideWithStyles, I will give it more time, see how it goes.
  24. I don't think so. Are these known as "clip ons"?
  25. All the best, hope it's all positive going forward.
