  1. @Grumpy Old Git Crikey, keep hitting that save button, and back up the documents to at least a thousand different locations

  3. So in December 2022 I bought a Ring Automotive 12/24v battery charger, a very heavy and robust bit of kit. I bought it from Halfords for £119 through our farm business. I only used it a few times, so when it failed a few months ago at just 18 months old, I was a bit miffed. I realised a short while ago that Halfords offer 2 year warranties, but when I enquired, it's only on their own Halfords labelled products. I never complain about anything, and I didn't this time, instead I filled in a contact form on the Ring Automotive website, telling them that it was a great product but that I was disappointed it had failed after so little use. I received a next day reply form a chap who said that if I could send him parts from the charger that they needed for refurb's, he would send me a replacement!! What a result. Being so busy, and a little forgetful, It took me three weeks to get the darned parts delivered back to him, and once again, I received an immediate reply, but sadly, they no longer sock that model. I suggested that I would be grateful for a discount code for the next model up, but he did way better than that, he replaced my £119 heavyweight charger with a smart charger that cost me nothing, and actually retails from them at £365, but can be had for about £250. Jeeeeeez, I'm absolutely gobsmacked. In an age when customer service from so many businesses can be so poor, this guy saved the world. A true legend. This is what he sent me. https://www.ringautomotive.com/en/product/RSCP3024
  4. Welcome to the forum @Punts Nice bikes to have.
  5. OK, I've sussed it. The taxi looks like a "Fake Taxi", which I believe has a lot to do with a series of taxi related pornography films. Personally, I think it looks like an ordinary taxi. I used Google image search to find out.

  7. I actually, don't get that Who's the girl?
  8. Attitude, and lack of reprimand. Social attitude is so poor compared to the eighties. It's easy on social media to give the impression that you're such a good person, but the reality is that most people don't "give a monky's" about anyone else, and truly believe they can do whatever they like and get away with it. As we have mostly witnessed, they do get away with it, whether being a twat behind the wheel, or not. Education of public, social and road manners is key, and should start young.
  9. Please tell Sue, that the TMBF girls and boys wish her well.

  11. That's great @rennie You should have a cider on her behalf. Hope she's back on her feet soon.
  12. Great looking machine.
  13. At least we have decent handling these days, I remember the two Mk3 Cortinas I had, went in and out of corners like a sailing dinghy on choppy water. I agree though, those were days we had to "drive", we had to use our judgement and skill, instead of the "point and shoot" type driving we get away with these days.
  14. Might be worth trimming 5mm from the ends of the HT leads at the spark plug caps (if there's enough length). They can corrode.
  15. Good morning bikers
  16. @Fozzie Ya soppy sod... I'm quite jealous really, never had anyone want to marry me, probably why events like yours are all the more special. I'm sitting here really happy for you, and I don't even know you. Good luck matey.
  17. Hey @Stef welcome to the forum. You've probably done, just about everything you could do to those carb's. I have no further suggestions, but there are some guys on here with some proper knowledge. Hopefully said guys will be along soon.
  18. Sarcasm, surely that's factual?
  19. Mate, that gave me goosebumps. Congratulations, the two of you look like a lovely couple.
  20. @Gerontious Congratulations. What an incredible purchase!
  21. Ah yes, all perfectly normal, it all adds to building your skills, whether controlling the bike, or in the case of the aggressive driver, standing your ground whilst controlling your mind.
  22. Good morning bikers, yer all bonkers
  23. It's lethal, especially when it's wet, and it covers the whole width of the road. Chuck in a few trees worth of fallen leaves just to make it worse.
  24. That's a result, you'll need that money for the extra fuel
  25. Good morning bikers
