We've just had our open day.
It's when we have an open invitation to the equine world to come along whilst we parade the foals we have bred this year around our riding arena, in the hope that they will catch the eye of prospective buyers.
Feck me, we new it was going to rain, and it bloody well did, but not all the time.
We had an amazing turnout, twice as many people as last year, despite the forecast.
We lined up a few gazebos' with straw bales as seats, and the veterinary practice that we use sponsored the food by organising a pizza van.
There was a talk by one of the vets, and a friend of ours from another stud, stood in the corner under a shelter and gave a talk on each mare and foal as they were paraded around.
What a day!!!
I usually dread it, but everyone was in high spirits saying what a great event it was, almost 70 pizzas cooked, and lots of interest in the foals.
Now though, now I need to clear up, I need to unwire all the PA system speakers, and take down the gazebos' and get the few dry bales of straw back into the barn etc.....
Going to sleep well tonight.
