  1. Nope.. Because if it had no earth, it would have no spark... And TADAAAA. finally. Found the problem!!! The keyway on the crankshaft had messed up.. So the flywheel would slip.. Not alot, the keyway was slightly worn each side, just enough to miss-align TDC mark, every now and then... Thank F*** for that.. was about to give up on the thing a dab of weld to close up the wear on the key way, so that everything is held nicely.. and it fires right up Sorry but that doesn't make sense to no fuel getting in......makes sense for timing being out.....
  2. eeerrrmmmm wrong......a timing chain can jump and it only needs do so 1 or 2 teeth to be out...
  3. eewww you're dead rough you....lol
  4. You say its not getting fuel...... Have you actually tried putting a small amount directly into the cylinder and see if it at least fires? If it doesn't fire then you will need to look at the timing...if it does fire then you need to sort out the fuel issue... Obviously that could be blocked jets, or even poor valve timing....did you actually check the valve timing as you would still get good compression...
  5. What colour is the smoke......Blue or Black... Bluer means oil burning Black means excess fuel..
  6. A limp?......is that what you normally call Sue????
  7. to the first and in the words of the great Norouki Haga......BORROCKS To the second TY
  8. Can you guys recommend any good schools in Hull please as I have a friend who wants to do her CBT? Thanks
  9. The idiot in Mansfield today as I was on my way home from meeting Cat and Owen. 3ft from my arse in a 30 limit with nowhere for me to go! Then when I looked over my shoulder at him he lost the plot....tried to force me over, when he couldn't do that he finally overtook me brake tested me. I just ignored him because he was clearly losing the plot but he pulled up at the side of me at some red lights and screamed that he was going to kill me through his NS window. I just sat at the light when they turned green and he had to go...lol What a NOB!!!!
  10. also remember to put the new bearing in the freezer box for a good while.....will help it go back in..
  11. Compression test would seem in order to me......last time I was asked to fix one with similar problems the piston had virtually melted....new barrel and piston required and promptly fitted...
  12. I just saw this lost soul driving back and forth past my home and thought I'd better help him....lol Common fault.....as the connector had been pushed together it had been done properly and it had forced one of the connectors out leaving a gap which caused arcing and eventual burning and failure.. Pleased to help a fellow TMBF member ...

  14. Isen't that the point of most bikers? I'm not having a go here but.... There is nothing wrong with fear......It's only a bad thing if the fear controls you.....The late great James Hunt used to puke up before every race.... A controlled fear helps keep you alive, it improves your decision making abilities etc. It's those who say they have no fear that put the bike down the road due to not allowing the controlled fear to tell them they are barrelling too fast in to a bend etc. Not a rant just some common sense.....
  15. There is a simple rule when biking..........YOU GO WHERE YOU LOOK...... and that applies at all times...
  16. Sorry to hear about your dad mate Try to wait as long as you can for the third thing....don't tempt fate eh...
  17. I would be interested to know what you are being told in terms of doing a U-turn? Are you keeping the revs up? Are you using the rear brake to control the speed? Are you making sure that you turning your head and looking where you want the bike to go?
  18. Sounds logical Captain.....it's either that or the Klingon's are off the starboard bow......
  19. Yeah I think I'll go with this... it's only a fiver. Have you used it? How long did it last if so? No I have never used it...I always changed the rad....but then I was in the trade at the time....it does work if you follow the instructions carefully....will last for ages but may cause the motor to run hotter depending on how blocked the rad is.....Ive seen a guy punch holes in a rad with a large screwdriver and pore this stuff in and it sealed within a minute...
  20. Radweld works.....you can buy it in most car shops
  21. You would be better off installing a relay to provide the switch circuit, than wire it into the side light circuit...
  22. You may need to check the float level...also it could be sticking....take the carb off and make sure...
  23. Could be a sticking/stuck choke....
  24. Thank you Can't wait for you and Owen to put up the same
  25. The offer is there mate...np.....BTW....most elctrical faults are due to a poor earth...
