  1. Knackers, that's what you get when you don't read instructions! Especially for you Al : When You Are Old and Grey - Tom Lehrer
  2. Then it sounds like the fan is not kicking in so firstly check the fuse. If that's alright then try connecting 12v straight to the fan terminals - if it spins up then your switch is probably iffy. Have you checked your coolant/oil yet? If you've got mayo in the expansion bottle or can see it through the oil sight glass then you may have HG failure. Otherwise, check the simple, cheap things first!
  3. A mere £79! http://nolimitstrackdays.com/uk-tracks/snetterton.html Novice and advance sessions remaining. I'm all booked up for the novice group - anyone else fancy it?
  4. Got that thanks Stu, but would be nice to pick the engine noise as well sometimes. l've heard the more expensive camera's systems and there sorted. Why not stick a bit of black tape over the opening? More layers = less wind noise.
  5. When does it do this by the way? When it's standing (prob fan/switch/fuse) or when you're riding (prob air lock/thermostat)?
  6. Rain is due at 22:00 apparently so I'm going to risk it for a biscuit. Going to get kitted up and head on over via the Missing Sock.
  7. You naughty man, I don't believe that to be correct... So long as it has a kitemark (E or BSI), has >50% light transmission, is used in daylight hours (30 mins before/after sunrise/sunset) and not used in times of "reduced visibility" then you're golden. It's a sod carrying a spare clear visor - pinlock is probably easier. Ooh, has anyone tried the PinLock Protec TINT inserts? The UV reactive jobbies.
  8. We will all go together when we go - Tom Lehrer
  9. That's what we call "drift" dear boy.
  10. Pretty much a 3/8" metric rail will do you (8mm - 22mm), spanners of the same sizes, set of hex keys/bits, maybe some torx bits, extending magnetic thingy, large adjustable spanners...

Which model is it off? If it's the under seat version then I might be interested...
  12. Apart from this one which it took me 30 seconds to find on the internet... £150 for a full set - might as well do it while you've got it all apart.
  13. Walking on Broken Glass - Annie Lennox
  14. Absolutely old son, my last Shoei lasted 8 years (still looks good) and I've just replaced it with an X-Spirit II. A bit steep up front but if it lasts another eight years then it's money well spent!
  15. You mean like this? If you buy on line you'll just have to let it stand for a few days to get the air out.
  16. For the sake of a fiver just go and buy some new stuff. The old fluid will have absorbed some water and will not perform well.
  17. Thy was what I was thinking too, why take them off... I'd far rather have mine on than have to fork out for more plastic and engine cases than necessary if I lob it up the road.
  18. Unluck buddy, hope your good lady is alright! If she's anything like mine (a stubborn old sod) she might come around of her own accord once she's spent a bit of time on the back of yours.
  19. Simple, they reached their bikes maximum speed.
  20. what room The room that's created by ones tent, naturally.
  21. That's why I asked about the AE - my first record was in the evening and it was a bit pony...
  22. 3/4... Probably not. You are getting huge engine breaking when you dump it at low revs - enough to overcome the traction of the rear wheel! On track (of course ) it's quite common for the rear to lock/skip up a bit under harsh downchanges - watch motoGP or something and you'll see them squirming about on the run up to a corner. Maybe try giving the throttle a blip before you let the clutch out or quicken your shifting a bit (sorry if I telling you how to suck eggs!).
  23. So basically you're telling us that you rag it everywhere. Are you clutchless shifting? Kinda interested in why you're going N-2 at 50mph - I'm not surprised the wheel locked if you dumped the clutch with low revs!
  24. Yep, nice one Mr Tango! Was a very good, entertaining input and learned quite a bit. Highly recommended!
  25. Erm... Seems like they've changed the dates a bit! 1st is still a go-er for me anyhow. I'll give the bloke a buzz and see when they're letting people in to the tunnels proper. As for parking, there's the casino a bit along the seafront - maybe a local bod can chip in as I've not been there for a couple of years...
