  1. I've not had experience of a starter breaking down - I've known them work or not. Used solenoids can be had for £25 - starters for £100 on eBay. You could probably nip it to an auto electrician and get it tinkered/rewound. Last one I had done was about £40.
  2. I'd put my money on a shitty switch or dodgy solenoid. Does it click when you press the start button?
  3. Jumps off? Do you mean bump starts, starts with jump cables or something else?
  4. Strange boy. I forgot to ask in your fixing up thread... where did you get you baffle material from? I need to repack mine and was going to get stuff from Amazon unless you'd recommend what you used.
  5. I've given up with easyouts. I'd weld a nut on the top and wind it out - soooo much easier than pissing about with drills, taps and all that jazz. Plus I'd have an excuse to weld something to something else.
  6. You're looking at the wrong reading on the odometer six - it's the bottom one you want. CK - did you register this one under your name or did you not send it off?
  7. Your pics aren't showing mate.
  8. Oh, and we Need more people!
  9. I think we should pass the verdict to one of our forum biscuit aficionados for the final ruling. Also, I've got a shed full of [strikeout]old crap[/strikeout] unique antique furniture if there are any other bike swaps on offer.
  10. Yup, so long as it's a 125 and sub £300 it's fair game. I'm trawling the sales sites every day for the wonder bike - nothing much doing round me - plenty in Essex but they're probably all nicked and I don't want to go there again after the dogshit incident.
  11. Off topic but the word "Farkle" always makes me think of an amalgam of the word "fart" and "spackle" (the well known vomit provoking pub game played by squaddies).
  12. Long are pretty much what you have now. Stubby are just that - maybe an inch or so shorter. The range of adjustment is much greater on the aftermarket levers which is the really good thing about them. I've got massive hands so don't get along with the short ones as I only use my ring and little finger to brake (unless it's gone tits up). Shame you haven't got a zx6r as you could have had my stubbies (used once) for a pint.
  13. Mine were from seller: etop_wholesale_uk. The service was really good. My ZXR is a crossover year and they sent the wrong fitment for the clutch. A couple of polite emails and a picture or two of the old lever and they sent me the correct one FOC. The link you provided uses the same pic as the eBay sellers so your extra tenner is more than likely their overhead for exactly the same product.
  14. Attach the words "wedding" or "honeymoon" and prices increase ridiculously. I tried using a proxy IP thing when I was shopping for Thai brides but it slowed the internet down so I binned it. I'm sure a computer whizz will be along shortly with an answer...
  15. For levers... a few people in here including Phil and me have Chinese eBay specials. Phil only uses his bike to potter to the shops but I use mine on the track so can vouch for their quality. I think mine were about £12 but they did take a week or two to arrive from Chinaland. If you removed the brand name, I'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between the cheapies and the high end jobbies.
  16. Sounds about right for a 600. What were you expecting?
  17. I'm giving the Motobatt a whirl too. The ZX6r chomps a Yuasa every year so if lasts longer then it's win-win. Strangely, the ZXR has had the same Yuasa for yonks and it's okey dokey.
  18. During my meathead years I used an analogue, manual interface fitness/activity tracker. It was a bit a paper and a pen. I'd scribble my reps and weights or time and distance then chuck it in to excel the next day. Still got to see trends and performance with zero outlay.
  19. Just had my annual compensation review thing. 2.5% pay rise and 14.5% bonus. Shame I've only got a couple of months left to enjoy my pay rise...
  20. Bish-bash-bosh, proper job mate!
  21. Wasn't that Indiana Jones? Anyway, Brunel did something similar with Box Tunnel.
  22. Is it something you can nip a bit of tape round to see if that's the problem?
  23. You've clearly not been to Cambridge.
  24. Of course. I use my phone as a sat nav so occasionally have to tinker with a route while at the lights. "Okay Google" needs internet doesn't it?
  25. Not so easy if you've only got a few seconds at the lights. How do you get your phone to do what it's told?
