  1. Agree with above, Mine is a carb i wish i had injection start and go almost but hey ho.. I tend to start it up on full choke let it run a few seconds then drop down to hover around 2-3 k revs while i get my kit on.
  2. *grumbles something about getting lots of money for a chinese bike*
  3. I'm gonna post another event in the biking events forum now just to make things MOOOOOOOOORE confusing haha!
  4. Dude, I have a skateboard... And some rope! Come on guys, how can we even suggest it?! ...It has 4 wheels!!! Ew... *hides car*
  5. I'm sure we can modify a skateboard with some thicker wheels?
  6. Just on what (little) i know, i would say ABS. It will make braking safer for you. Only down side is you don't learn to control the brakes properly i guess?
  7. Just saw your "Bikes" on your profile.. Sorry to say i did chortle a little.. Hope knee is better! We need to meet someday to rant about chinese bikes! Maybe someone has a side car?
  8. Ah well kd79 comes down from ipswich and meets me at my A12 slip road at sainsburys in tollgate. Then it's just a case of straight onto the A12 and down to chelmsford
  9. Bob, we have a 2.5hr rideout... would you take Moo for half of it? Tom (Glorian) offered which is great but he'll be trickling about at 25mph, 2up on that bandit! haha. Just so everyone's comfortable really TBH... I'm gonna smack you !! :D At least it won't be smoking ( i hope..) this time i fixed that oil leak hah!
  10. Yay we get to rant about chinese bikes :D
  11. I just wear some thermal undies when winter comes around I think some barkbusters are going on this year though...
  12. Yes indeed will have to sort a meet point nearer the time Prob best meet at the usual spot i guess? Easy to find each other then and grab fuel if needed haha I may take you up on that! Did you end up taking a pillion in the end then? If not I don't mind being the first victim . I haven't as of yet, Hoping to this wednesday but we will see!! Might be good actually have a pillion who knows how to pillion haha.
  13. Thanks for your advice and help. You've been the most consistently helpful person on here Cheers! Good to know =) Message me if you have any other questions i'll try give some sensible answers
  14. Well the foot pegs on my bandit are fairly low, So i imagine more comfortable than a sports bike
  15. The gear lever can be adjusted on all (?) bikes. Fairly easily to. But it's how your leg sits on the bike, Wearing knee high solid boots will restrict your movement. Trying to move your ankle to change gear (No matter the height) can be tricky, My current boots allow enough flexibility to move my foot around and change gears as necessary but i sacrifice some protection.
  16. I think it's in relation to for example.. You're going down the motorway, ahead you see traffic has stopped so you slow your speed down accordingly. Unfortunately for you the BMW van driver is to busy drinking his red bull and reading the sun to notice. Now, if you check your mirror you would see this vehicle is not paying attention and as such you can get out of his way before you become a permanent pillion. Best to listen to your instructor and do what he says, he is training you to pass your tests. After you can ride how you like (sensibly please )
  17. Just wear thicker socks Make sure you're comfortable in the boot though. Sit on a bike if possible and try changing gears. If you can't do it there. you won't be able to do it on the road.. I found out when i picked my first bike up in motocross style boots and coudln't change gears! Was a fun ride home..
  18. Awesome, we both bought Chinese bikes around the same time, we both passed our tests around the same time, we both bought unreliable first big bikes at the same time, and now we can be limping everywhere at the same time too I think we were doomed to WALK this earth...
  19. So how many people are going now? I'll be popping along with Kieran in tow. Also moo if you want to be my next victim as a pillion feel free.
  20. NOOOOOOO! If you're going to push the piston(s) back in, you want the reservoir as near empty as you dare. I bleed out as much as I think I can get away with without getting air in the system before start fiddling about changing pads. This is why you don't trust random google pages ha! I wonder how many more weeks i can put off doing my brake pad...
  21. Daaaaaaaaaaamn that is nasty, Let us know about your knee, hope it doesn't cause long term problems. Get you back on your (new ) bike as soon as medically safe!
  22. I was taken on a A road dual carriageway for my test, Though i have been riding a 125 that does 60 on these roads for ages.. So riding a 600 XJ was amazing, 2nd gear up to 60 because i can haha! Check your shoulder a couple times as you come off slip road, Find your gap and position yourself accordingly. and don't forget to turn off the indicator. You don't have to overtake unless traffic is going slowly in lane 1 and lane 2 is clear.
  23. If in doubt, Check both shoulders. Worse case is he might give you a minor for OVER checking.. Better than not checking once and failing
  24. I bought a pair of boots at london show last year for £40 they're good boots rigid enough but allow movement for gear changing as i hate not being able to move my foot at all.. Most however will allow some adjustment mine have velcro around the calf.
  25. I keep putting mine off tbh... I read something about opening the resevoir cap (make sure it's topped up) before you try push the piston in. Might be worth a go. Also if you're doing the brake pads do the fluid to. It's proper easy if you get a hose that stops air going back, just be careful as it will strip paint
