The turbo-c**t who thought that women and children at a gig are viable targets in a phoney war over who's invisible man in the sky is better. Very worried that if it happens to be a guy from near where I live (Oldham) then the whole place could erupt... we've had riots before over much less.

How long is the exhibition on for?

My first car insurance was with Swift, who were reasonable enough for a year. Otherwise I would just jump on moneysupermarket for a new policy.

Official Olivers Mount Road Racing Thread
thebendyfox replied to thebendyfox's topic in Racing and Track Days
Right then, weather has been shite but forecasts currently show no rain for race days. I will be up at the site from about 2pm on Friday, and sat in front of tent with beer from about 2.30 -
Good stuff! Wasn't sure as I got turned away from a few places in North Cornwall in 2011. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk Good grief... my family tent is about twice that size, I'd go spare if I rocked up at a campsite and they refused it

Super mystery tags... choose 3 locations in an area with a 4th one in the vicinity (or on the route) that links them all somehow. For example: Grosmont Town + Hole of Horcum + RAF Fylingdales = Goathland, AKA Aidensfield from "Heartbeat" Daft i know

Went to the doctors for a checkup, he asked me why I had a steering wheel down my pants.. ...SO i told him it was driving me nuts. -

How accurate are those speed guns in terms of target at a distance? I rounded a corner about 15 over the speed limit and saw a copper pointing one towards me about 500 meters away. Obviously slammed on the brakes, I was over the limit when I saw him which meant he saw me. Was expecting his pal in the car to pull me. They ignored me, which I thought was lucky and odd. AFAIK they need to be a certain distance in order to be reliable and accepted in court, depending on the model of "gun". Google tells me that a laser-gun has a range of about a mile, whereas a radar version is only effective up to 300yrds. Also - a motorbike at speed is a slightly harder "target" than a car. I am also of the firm (eg. naieve ) belief that many traffic police are "sensible biker friendly", which may have helped your cause

Security – where to start
thebendyfox replied to Foxy Stoat seeks Pig's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Why?? Just trying to help you avoid those nasty little tea-leaves. Most big cities have secure bike parking facilities these days - which you seem to have identified. But even without those its a case of carrying a decent chain or disc-lock in a rucksack and being aware of any damage or changes to the security or chains etc. Don't let this put you off -

The local council might take exception to that, mine did at one point -

31 Days until Cock o' North I'm arriving by train (advance party ) with tent, kettle and a few tins on the Friday afternoon and will be available for tent-erection and beer-drinking support should it be required. -
Stellaris is good if you are into your turn-based strategies (ie. Civ 3, Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron etc). I've lost weeks to Football Manager, Civ and Age of Empires over the years
-
Civ games are great, and they have just announced Civ 6. Civ 5 is a bit transparent for my taste, but a really good introduction to the game.

Stellaris Paradox are utter utter utter gits

I'm based to the west of Manchester (Saddleworth), but work abroad most of the time. Should be back on two wheels by the summer so will be well up for some rideouts by then - dates permitting
