  1. Another day another town, here we are in Vannes on another warm and sunny day. We found ourselves another petit tren Parking motorcycles is never a problem in France. Here are a few we came across while walking about Vannes
  2. It was a pleasant crossing from St Helier to St Malo, sunny and calm. Much like the journey to Vannes. The bike got a secluded corner in the underground car park. At Melanies suggestion here is one for Tom And moving swiftly on, we walked into town and came across this strange offering
  3. SOME nice nosh, it's that mucky mind you have.
  4. After Le Petit Tren we took a walk to the Nigel Mansell collection On the way back to town I spotted a dedicated bike park, never seen this in England, not just a few spaces.
  5. Today we are in tourist mode and on Le Petit Tren
  6. We set off this morning at 9am here is the bike in full touring mode The first 100 miles were done on the M1. I used the cruise control and stuck to the speed limit (boring). We stopped for a coffee in a nice air conditioned Mcdonalds. We then pressed on to meet Richard (richtea) for a spot of lunch. This was the Royal Oak in Tingewick, a really nice country pub with very friendly locals. It was nice to catch up with Rich for the first time since this years Wrinklies trip. After lunch we pressed on to Ferndown and the Premier Inn. Temperatures were up to 34 C according to the bikes computer but having the cooling vest and being well hydrated made it bearable. A few pints of lager were consumed by Melanie and myself along with some nice nosh. Then off to bed as we have a ferry to catch in the morning to St Heller. More later
  7. Sorry bout that, I already got the answer.
  8. What if you do some of the servicing but not all?
  9. In London in 1976 it snowed on the 1st of June and then we went on to have one of the hottest summers on record. Not a lot of people know that.
  10. An interesting read. I would opt for less miles and shorter days, but that's just me.
  11. It seems to have been a long wait since the EuroKClub Wrinklies trip until our Holiday in France this year. It's now 6 days before we set off on our jolls. We are heading south next Sunday 8th July hopefully meeting up with a friend on the way down to Ferndown, where we are staying before heading to Poole for the ferry to Jersey. I have contacted A mate who live on Jersey to see if he's available for a meet up. The Nigel Mansell collection looks interesting and we'll take a look while we are there. After a couple of days in Jersey we are off to Vannes, La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Chatellerault, Alencon and finally Le Treport before heading for the tunnel and home. As usual I'll try to remember to take pictures and post them up. This year, because of the weather the main concern is staying cool, with temperatures in France in the high twenties and low thirties. I have ordered the cooling jacket that fits my Rev It jacket, I'll let you know how good it is.
  12. I had a pretty big off a few years ago wearing a Spada mesh jacket and it held up pretty well. I suffered a broken Scapula and the jacket was a bit scuffed on the impact sight but other than that it was OK.
  13. The old platitudes are the best
  14. Yes it has live traffic, re-routing, and speed camera alerts(saved me once or twice), and hazards. It doesn't use much internet anyways. I'm using it in the car mostly. . Thank you, that question had already been answered and commented on, keep up
  15. You have to use your eye muscles to look at it
  16. My demands of a sat nav are quite high, we tour the UK and Europe quite extensively. I plan quite long routes in advance and then transfer them to the unit. The planning tools that I use are ITN Converter, Tyre To Travel, MyRouteApp as well as Tomtom MyDrive and occasionally MotoGoLoco. All of these planners have good and not so good points. I have not yet found one that incorporates all of the good points, although ITN Converter comes close.
  17. yes OK that's good then, I might try it one day. I tried Co Pilot a few years ago, which was OK but all the useful features had to be paid for. So in the end I went for the Tomtom App along side my Tomtom 400 as a back up. I also have Sygic which is good and very customisable.
  18. Does Waze have live traffic and speed camera locations?
  19. Didn't decide until this morning
  20. I'll be at Squires for 11 O'clock if anyone is available
  21. I use one of these for all of my accessories. https://www.nippynormans.com/f650st-f650cs-f650gs-f650-dakar/fuzeblock-switchable-fuse-panel It may seem like a lot of money, however it can easily be moved from bike to bike. I have had mine on three bikes so far. It makes wiring in any accessory very easy. The battery terminals get cluttered very quickly once you start accessorising your bike.
  22. Use Google Maps, zoom in to the desired area and print it out.
  23. I wash my textile gear a couple of times a year with NikWax. I have come across some smelly barstewards on my travels.
  24. That USB socket is only 1 amp and if you are going to use a phone as a Sat Nav you need a 2.1 amp charger to keep the phone charged.
  25. Your Iphone wont like a 12 Volt input
