  1. OK folks I have just given it a trial run. I totally deflated my rear tyre set the unit to 42psi and set it running, it took 9 minutes 10 seconds to fully inflate the tyre. It shut off when it reached the preset pressure. I checked the pressure with a calibrated PCL digital inflater and it was bang on 42psi the PCL measures tenths so I was pleasantly surprised with the accuracy. Although the air going in was warming up as we went on, so that would affect pressure and I will check it again later but it would certainly get you out of a fix. It didn't get overly hot in operation, the air tube was warm to the touch but not burning hot as some can be. So it gets a big thumbs up from me.
  2. I'll report back when it's charged as for whether it will fit under your seat or not I cannot comment. I have a small tailpack that houses the compressor and some tools.
  3. I have just bought one of these It seems to be of good quality and has a sturdy feel. It's on charge at the moment, I'll test it out when it's charged and report back. I got it from Ebay here Ebay Click Here Youtube review here (not mine) ">
  4. Go to the IAM website pay your money and the observer will explain everything to you.
  5. If your speedo was telling you 28 you were more likely to be at about 25 or less. Not saying he was right.
  6. They are, I've worn them lots. https://www.sealskinz.com/socks/mtb-thin-mid-socks-with-hydrostop-black-grey.htm Just read the description for confirmation.
  7. Plastic bags on your feet will make you sweat buckets and end up wetter on the inside than outside.
  8. I have no experience of the cheaper waterproof sock but I do have two pairs of Sealskinz and can tell you that they are waterproof. I have since bought a pair of Altberg boots which are waterproof so I have no need to wear the sealskinz these days.
  9. It's unlikely to be the leather that is leaking, most likely seams and zips. You are unlikely to be able to cure this. A viable alternative are sealskinz waterproof socks. https://www.sealskinz.com/socks/+waterproof/+men
  10. Unless they are Rukka Or Rev It pro shell Gore-Tex
  11. My first call would be to Environmental Health Dept. Freeze the contents of the tin.
  12. Every 3000 miles for mine.
  13. It wasn't his video it was one he found on Youtube with similar problems. Keep up lads
  14. If you put your location in your profile it will stop people asking
  15. Bikers do it in car parks with strangers dressed in leather.
  16. Give 'em a squirt with contact cleaner and activate a few times then repeat and you should be good to go unless something is broken inside.
  17. I have used RST gear for a few years and always found it to be the higher end of the cheap gear. My spare jacket is an RST Paragon 5 which has always been waterproof even in the heaviest of prolonged rain. However the same cannot be said of the trousers, this is mainly because they have a 4 way crossover seam at the crotch. It wouldn't take much to rectify this, I have a pair of Furygan trousers that have a one piece gusset at the crotch which eliminates the problem, why RST don't adopt this pattern I have no idea.
  18. I wasn't knocking the Givi kit and if you are happy with it that's great, but you did say you had had an issue with it. I was just extolling the virtues of the Admore kit which for me was a no brainer choice because they produce a plug and play kit for my bike which plugs straight in with no wire cutting or tapping, also it provides a very quick flash as you apply the brakes. If cheap is your bag then the Givi kit will fit the bill, I had a different set of criteria when I made my choice and I am very happy with it, as you are with yours so everyone is a happy bunny.
  19. No such problems with the Admore system just simply plug it in and it works, spring loaded pin systems such as the top box and some sat navs can be problematic from time to time.
  20. Lextek is not a brand I've heard of so couldn't really comment.
  21. The Admore kit has a plug that you disconnect (I know because I have it), and the Givi kit has the spring loaded pins, I checked
  22. This depends on the make of top box and the light kit used. I think Givi have spring loaded connector pins so nothing to unplug but can get mucky. Admore Lighting kit has a plug. Please double check I'm not absolutely sure. I have the Givi V56 with the Admore light kit which gives you brake and indicators on the box. https://admorelighting.com/
  23. The topic of WD40 came up in another thread with regard to cleaning contacts and megawatt stated that he had been using WD40 for 42 years to clean contacts without issue and I'm sure that is true. I am a big fan of WD40 and think it's a great product. However it was formulated 64 years ago and was as the WD indicates, a water dispersal agent, it was also useful as a lubricant and a penetrating fluid and contact cleaner. Time has moved on and there are more specialised products in the market place. WD40 themselves have also moved on with more specialised products. See here http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchRouter?storeId=10001&catalogId=10151&tabNo=1&action=listrefine&qcon=brand%3DWd-40%3B&pageNo=1&pageSize=21&sort=we_recommend&srch=penetrating+fluid So while WD40 can do all of the thing it has always done, sometimes there are better, specialised products rather than the Jack of All Trades that is WD40. I am never without the original WD40 I hasten to add before you die hard WD40 fans pillory me.
  24. Nothing wrong with WD40 I just said "I" would "favour" contact cleaner, which I would.
  25. I think I would favour contact cleaner over WD40 first.
