  1. Hi all, Just bought this bike and I was told that it isnt used often enough and has developed a mis-fire. The person that is selling it to me says that it is down to the carbs being a bit mucky. Is this the most likely cause or could there be anything more sinister to this bike? Thanks.
  2. *comes out of the garage from tinkering heavily with my bike* Ive been working on it to manage long trips. I want to be able to do this and its 125 miles away which isnt too bad especially seeing as its such a good cause. I should be able to manage the 28th as its a sunday but if its raining unfortunately I wont be able to attend as my bike suffers greatly from the rain and will just conk out so ill be physically unable to attend if thats the case Hopefully it will be a day of golden sunshine
  3. So.. When selling it you could write in the description "is one with nature"...
  4. Yep, thats the one I went to 2 lidls in my area and not a single scrap of motorbike gear.. not one bit..
  5. Try Adtrader ( I don't think they are as strict ) f**k it! I've only been offered £2.50 fo the pair of them. f**k it! I was making that offer.. Its good to have a pair of slaves kids.. Good for housework I cant be bothered with
  6. Hi all, Ive been looking for tank bags with a see through plastic casing for a sat nav. But they all seem stupidly expensive. All I need is a very small one with the plastic on top to slip a sat nav in... I was looking at a Givi S850 but for £40 on something thats 6 inches wide and straps to handlebars via velcro straps is a bit steep to say the least.. Thanks for the help..
  7. As a heads up I have personally used this.. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ ... 55-C690.00 It is alot like the ones you use on your test and I have found them to be very good. The range is only a few km but if your riding together why would you go so far from the group. They dont come with headsets but I see that as a good thing as ones that do come with them beef up the price and are uncomfortable. These you can hook them up to a good headset of your choice.
  8. f**k that... And f**k it... Hate being a second class citizen in this nation when stood next to an immigrant
  9. I chose the bandit as with that high cc you should be getting massive torque and a very smooth feel to the bike. Just my opinion, I think you could have more fun with the yammie but the Bandit certainly wont let you down in that factor.
  10. All I will suggest is get your test done then rejet the carb, proper airfilter, a good Arrow exhaust and bigger sprockets. Sprockets for improved cruising and maybe a tad bit more top speed... As I said... only when you have done your test..
  11. f**k Uni.. Sick of it.. Just one more month of hell and Im free from it..

    Do you nod?

Never as a simple rule ever ever ever nod at scooters.. I dont get that sense of the biking community from them. All bikes any size I nod at.. Doesnt matter if they had a 50cc single cylinder id still nod or wave.
  13. I had the same problem.. So took my small rucksack out. If I fell off that would have been very expensive the replace it. Gorgeous day... just tracking on google maps where to go to get some more pictures of roads that are good to ride..
  14. Nice pictures there Daz. Sort of owned mine a bit need to go out and find some more spectacular roads Should get more people going out and showing off their road and their bikes Get a forum riding gallery going
  15. I wonder if we could start a thread for posting pictures of roads we are using and bikes on days such as this... Anyway, the weather today was perfect. At points there wasnt a single cloud in the sky so naturally after my test ride on the VFR this morning I took out the RS for a good old fashioned ride down the back roads... Here are the pictures... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3561/3452793926_17d6de7cb2.jpg This picture was taken near High Legh. I was planning on a run upto the cat and fiddle but to me this road is more fun. Alot more narrow and less busy. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3632/3452792562_de90d2df7c.jpg If I told you how fast I took that bend you'd never believe me... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3613/3452796766_671ef97f58.jpg Finally, the bike. Its now had a better exhaust system put on to work better with the powervalve. Shoots past 100mph quite easily now though Its being up cog'd to make it cruise nicely. Gorgeous day, Gorgeous road, Gorgeous bike. Come on folks, while the weathers good get out there and show off the roads you use and the bike you used for it Thought Id just share these...
  16. VFR's are solid and there is little difference between the looks of the bike between the ages youve given. I would have gone for the cheaper one as if its lasted that long and still going strong then its probably going to keep going strong for a very long time yet. But the newer one is also a steal for the price and thinking in terms of moving on from this bike in a few years i reckon that you should go for it seeing as this recession is going to flip on it self in a few years and then you'll be able to sell that bike with very little depreciation and get alot of your money back on it. Also because Honda's tend to be the more expensive bikes down to the quality and the brand you get for that money you could buy a brand new Suzuki SV1000. Friend of mine has one and philgale has the 650 version and supposedly the 1000 is meant to be a very good tourer though the depreciation on it will be more. Depends what you are looking for in a bike I spose. Though if you have a choice between the Triumph and the Honda for touring especially it has to be the triumph. They are just much better bikes for the job.
  17. Im down in London friday night so wont be riding down though me, Jin, MK and I think Skittles will all meet you at the Ace
  18. Shoulda left them with me I dont get put off easily, think it may be because ive only got like 20% of my sense of smell remaining..
  19. Predicted rain and the sun was shining all bloody weekend. Good exp for using the car though for most of it. 380 miles covered this weekend. Wish I had used the bike. Fell asleep at the wheel on the way down to Northampton to meet up with Jin, thank god my hands fell off the steering wheel and onto my lap. Had to pull up and sleep for an hour or so to stop me from killing myself. Next day stocked up on chocolate and got to put names to faces. (good to finally meet you TC). Is it wrong im eating a packet of chocolate buttons right now after almost being sick from the smell of chocolate in cadburys?
  20. I think its awesome Veeery close to the meet. looking forward to it now more than ever
  21. Heavy rain on friday and possible rain saturday... Fook taking the bike Will take the car and bring passengers
  22. who is putting for women members as their choice.. I came to meet new bikers... I've had good experiences and outright bad, but thats life
  23. March could have snow again... Will be funny to see who actually turns up on a bike...
  24. his exhaust/pipes well be on the right side of bike and if crap like that was coming from exhaust it prob means its time to spend loads of money on your engine its just oil of your chain i use wd40 to clean it of my bike all bikes with a chain have same problom ....Carbon build up along with tiny bits of fuel that get kicked out into the exhaust and sometimes cause a backfire??? Cause a blackish, thin fluid..
