  1. both our WSB riders binned too! we're not last!
  2. if the reg/rec was faulty then it has probably fried the new battery. you need to measure the voltage with the engine off (12V) and the engine on(up to about15v but no more) if he changed the battery without checking the reg/rec then he should give you another battery free of charge! buy a voltmeter! I bought 1 today from wickes for £22!
  3. well done! welcome to a whole new world
  4. re-did CBT today, no problems!
  5. my son's is 55 reg, Sue's is 06 both start fine but take ages to warm up and won't move till they are. I think the brakes are dire but! I'm a big bloke and used to 1000cc superbikes remember
  6. you get the tram line, diesel, pot hole, cow-shit etc problems on all bikes! all tyres! you just need to live with it ybr's are what they are! and pretty good at it too! I really can't see that tyres are going to make much difference! but anything that makes you happier with your bike can only be good personally, if I had to live with a ybr every day I'd be looking at improving the brakes first then the headlights then the starting and having to wait ages before it'll move. tyres would be way down the list because it just hasn't got the performance to justify it!
  7. field is plenty big enough, might have to queue for showers etc at peak times but it'll be fine.
  8. Sue's has chinese tyres on! seem up to the job to me! without being condescending I doubt that new, 16/17 year old riders would be able to find the tyre's limits!
  9. maximum points for race 1! we just might not be last soon!
  10. the pub sells food and beer! you don't really need to take much with you.
  11. how about 23 year old campervans? or 48 and a lot year old knees? It's a good idea! I'll help out with electrics if I'm sober, ok that's down to megawatt then
  12. I have no experience of 6V electrics! I would think 8V would be a bit high
  13. you need to measure the voltage! sounds like reg/rec to me but they're expensive you need to be sure!
  14. I'm about 20 stone! been riding years! both Sue and my son have YBR's. I've ridden them both for various reasons (MOT etc) even with me on they will easily reach 50/55 mph not sure you could call it cruising though! the fastest I managed to get was about 68! The 2 biggest things I noticed were the feeble brakes and even more feeble headlight! really it depends on what you're comparing it to, compare it to a 500/600 etc it's slow! compare it to other 125's it's fine! they're also surprisingly comfortable
  15. well done for passing! I hope Ken recovers soon! Try not to let it spoil your big day!
  16. I will watch anything with engines!
  17. well done!. welcome to a whole new world

  19. Bump! any more takers?
  20. congratulations! welcome to a whole new world!
  21. we'll lend her a folding chair! if she drinks enough she'll fall over anyway!
  22. rennie

    Help please..

to test a 12v battery your meter should be on DC Volts probably 0 to 30V range. you should get a reading of 12V without the engine running about 14V with engine running. To test a battery properly you need a discharge tester but if you haven't got 12V to start with you won't get very far.
  23. unlucky!, keep trying, it's worth it!
