  1. Another take on a support vehicle.. Divine assistance? It'll be needed for this! http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... ID=EBAY-GB
  2. Congrats mate! It's a wonderful feeling isn't it?
  3. Took advantage of a Monday off work and some nice clear weather for a local-ish loop. 1. Old Wardour Castle. This one was quite tricky to find and the roads got a little bit dicey. 2. Sherborne Old Castle. Most unwelcoming gates! 3. Portland Castle. 4. Waggon & Horses Pub. Bit of a night arrival this one and I'd expected it to be a bit more lit up but it was up for sale so there went my plans for warm-up as it was fairly chilly by this point in the day.. Sorry for the poor picture quality - my camera phone flash wouldn't light up anything bigger than the car-park sign..
  4. I ran my G650GS in as per the manuals guidance. It's quickly done if you're dedicated! No trouble since, and you know how tricky these BMW single 650's can be..
  5. I think you need to explore conditional formatting. At least I think that is what it is called. This should allow you to run several rules on the same set of data. I'm not near a PC at the mo so cannot test it out for you but take a look at: http://www.excel-easy.com/data-analysis ... tting.html See if that sounds like it could be useful. I use it to highlight cells in differing colours for different result ranges. Sounds similar to your needs.
  6. A couple more from me today.. Bishop's Waltham Palace Farnham Castle.. it was dark at this point but I was there!
  7. Agreed, what a great effort. Was that a single route that took in all the pubs?!
  8. That's really decent of your neighbour to do that and a shame it didn't result in anything concrete.
  9. Well I did enjoy following that this year. Eurosport is a bit brief with its coverage, having to cram bike, quads, cars and trucks into its timeslot. Also, some days the sky+ recorded something entirely different so Eurosport must have changed its schedule on at the last minute, so I missed 2 or 3 days. The scenery and resulting footage is amazing. I'll be sure to tune in again next year!
  10. I have direct-wired a single USB port to my battery and it doesn't leak any charge when not being used which is great. It's proven invaluable for keeping my phone acting as sat-nav fully charged. I used a ram X-grip mount for the phone, it was excellent but ram mounts are flippin' expensive. I've just upgraded (?) to a dedicated Garmin Zumo so that it can shout at me through my Sena if I'm speeding. This I still need to wire in so am also looking at some sort of fuse block to run that and the USB from. A project for spring.
  11. That's bloody awful news! I can't abide a thief - can they not imagine why it feels like to have it done to them. Especially so new into ownership after finding the one you wanted. Gutted for you.
  12. Sensational helicopter footage of Gonçalves crashing in the sand on stage 8. Huge respect, straight back on the bike and back in the race! http://youtu.be/J2E9lu2RcK4
  13. Lovely ride out today around Salisbury and in particular the area to it's south west is really picturesque plus some great roads. I guess that this is what this is all about, it got me to ride through an area I'd not normally have had cause to do so. Result. I am off the blocks with my first 40 points!
  14. Everybody should take a look at Red Bull's Dakar photo of the day pat. Some really great shots on there: http://www.redbull.com/en/motorsports/o ... ly-gallery
  15. Ha - so we do! Great minds and all that.. I was rooting for #111 Sylvain Espinasse. Can you believe he's doing this on a Husky 125cc deux-temps ?! (I quite like that's how the French say 2-stroke). 97th overall and still in it..
  16. Cheers RantMachine. I've set this on record thanks to you and have watched the last few days. Really enjoying it - some of the scenery looks amazing but the mud has been awful!
  17. I'm trying to immerse myself in this national trust / cultural thing we have going on here.. And I'm more of a crochet fan. Quilting.. Honestly! Cheers for doing this GOG, should be fun and encourage me to see a bit of the country. I really like the Google maps thing, that's quality.

    Happy new year

Happy New Year to all! Fairly quiet one for me last night so I've been out on a dawn raid already on the bike. Nice to be out on a crisp winters morning before anybody else was on the roads.
  19. I hope all these castles have got nice tea shops attached!
  20. Saved a good few pennies with the trade card at the weekend. Yuasa 5 year warranty Audi A3 battery £105 down to £83. Advanced screwdriver set in the sale £15 >> £7 >> £5.60 with the trade card. WD40 chain cleaner £7.49 >> £5.99. Happy with those!
  21. I quite like the look of this. Very arty!
  22. Don't let the buggers get you down! Just make sure you do their thinking for them if at all possible.
  23. That was well put together I thought. There was a bit towards the end where you had the BA plane when I thought it could have been the intro to a feature film. I was expecting an unveiling of the solution though - expected to see you hooning off on your bike!
  24. Cheers Stu. I had read that, which is why I was initially taking the position of queuing. It was the procession of bikes passing me that made me rethink. Is there some sort of acceptance of this amongst bikers? Or is it just if you do it you run the risk of being caught and given the appropriate penalty. I think I just need a helicopter!
  25. Hi All - I'm still very new to all this and have recently been taking the bike on the commute from Winchester to Heathrow. Mainly up and down the A30, it's mostly single carriageway but can get really busy. I'm getting much better at overtaking long lines of queues when there are broken line and hatched areas, but at times I find myself queuing behind stationary traffic with zero space to overtake and a solid white line. What's the score in this situation? This evening I was sat there doing what I thought was the right thing and 4 bikes went past me on my right, a good bike width on the other side of the lines. In the end I followed, because I felt like a big idiot just sat there. I now have 6 points on my license so need to err on the side of caution when it comes to endorse-able behaviour. (By the way - the points were SP30's for 34 and 37 (whilst in the car) ).
