For that money you could go anywhere for one. May I ask why would you want to spend quite so much ? Or are you that flush that it doesn't matter ?

The carriers will all recover the import duty, some ask for the money on delivery others send you an invoice. To make large savings on buying from overseas the currancy exchange rate has to be right too. Some years ago I bought an HG Hardkrome exhaust system from the US at the time it was nearly $2 to the £, so I wasnt too fussed about paying another £22 on delivery (lucky I had the cash on me). If you know someone in the US you could have the goods delivered to them foc, then they could send it on to you as 2nd hand spare parts. Cheaper again but only if you don't get caught.

As I achievied my resolution last new year, I plan not to make one again this year. I also intend to wake up every day for the next year and providing I do, live my life to the full. If however I do fail to wake one day at least I would have had a good year till that point.

You are right that they are both water cooled and do have a water pump, but that is pretty much the only similarity. Your post about your sons car made it sound like that any over heating would be caused by a water pump failure, at least thats how I read it. Apologies if that wasn't the case. My bad No dramas, was just giving an option. I had already looked at other (cheaper) options (ie stat) to no avail on the lads car.

I worked at Vauxhall for 12 years and have owned 8.. Generally good cars but there are good and bad in every manufacturer Different engine.. And your point is ? I am making the assumption that it is also water cooled and has a water pump !

My son has a 'M' plate astra 1.4, he started having overheating issues which were rectified by having a new water pump fitted.
