  1. I had to check the picture twice too make sure it wasn’t a pregnancy test I hit the “like” button to thank you for your post contribution, not because of test result to be clear
  2. Upload any of your best photos you have captured from the day. I will try and get things started….
  3. My Dad owns a Kawasaki 650 Versys with top box and side panniers. He has to park his bike at a location for roughly 3 to 6 weeks at a time before riding it again due to the nature of his job (coach driving). He has so far been using just a large sheet of tarpaulin and wrapping it tightly around the bike using carabiner clips and straps. He feels that it’s not working as efficiently as he had hoped… He is now looking for a better cover or an alternative method of storage. Ideally, a good portable cover. He is happy to invest in something decent as long as it does the job. I have recommended that he looks for a garage to rent in the area, but this would not be the best choice in the long-term since it will be a month-to-month expense. Would like to get all of your opinions and suggestions on products and different covers to use and maybe even another storage method that we have not thought about.
  4. Suspecting we have a rodent of some description making itself at home in our loft. We hear lots of scurrying around up there at night time. Then the cats sit and stare up at the ceiling. Unfortunately, I can’t send the cats up there in due to the insulation. I may also get clawed up trying to get them down. Never had to deal with this before… so I’m asking for some advice. Any products you recommend, what works and what won’t!? I think the wife would prefer to keep things humane.
  5. Didn’t realise this thread existed until now. All captured on mobile, here’s my contributions……

Now that we can all agree on!

    RideFree…..

By that did you mean… every one should know them like the back of their hand or do you mean, learn them well enough to use the road safely. I ask because, if I’m being honest with myself….. I can’t tell you a single thing about the Highway Code other than the fact I learned about parts of it during my car and bike test years ago but since I haven’t refreshed my memory. Yet I don’t consider myself a hazard to others because of this (not bragging, just a personal examination of myself) Realistically, Not even PC Plod knows what’s on every page
  8. Came across this today… https://www.gov.uk/government/news/ride-free-new-online-motorcycle-training-to-improve-road-safety?fbclid=IwAR2eNwdgGpHAfu9l2w_vMJSeETCWTU3xzlSVPx0dN66e1xGDacWGJ4Qx28g I think it’s a good idea. Your thoughts?
  9. I’ve owned 3 Hondas and 1 Triumph…. and that’s only because my local shop happened to be Honda dealer and a Triumph. The Street Triple I had was only ever sold because I wasn’t ready for a naked bike just yet, since I really enjoyed that sports bike feel still. Hence why I now have another CBR. I would happily own another Street Triple or even another brand of bike altogether. I’m inclined to stay with Honda for now because I like them and they have a good reputation about being durable and almost bomb-proof (subject to maintenance of course). However, this was the reason why someone once said to me “Honda’s are boring, they never go wrong and that’s why I wouldn’t get another one”….. I’ve also noticed that across the web, they don’t seem to score high across the review boards. Their lack of character, speed, and equipment that some feel should be standard rather than an extra, usually are the main bad points and yet…. The CBR600RR has won best middleweight sportsbike before?! I even had a friend tell me I should come away from Honda, just purely because that’s all I’ve owned mostly. I’m genuinely happy with my Honda for now. That being said, I’m not 100% for Honda because if I’m being honest, I’m still not riding my dream bike which happens to be a Kawasaki (one day!!) BUT….. I still have a taste for them because I think they nice bikes and they work! Anyway….Why do Honda’s have this “bad taste” about them?
  10. I can’t say I know Durham at all because I’m no where near it but If you can’t find a school to work for, is maybe starting your own school an option? Maybe start small with only one or two other 125cc bikes and start with a CBT or two at the weekends then see where it goes from there. One thing to note though, the ideal season to ride is passing now so it’s possible work in those areas may seem quiet around now.
  11. Looks nice! If you ever decide to get a more modern version, try the 650F next.
  12. What options do I have to increase my low-down torque whilst still keeping the mid range and above ends punchy? I love my CBR but lately, I’ve been thinking of going bigger to get that acceleration on the lower end. But in all honesty, I don’t really want to do that. I’d rather stick to my current bike and try to work on that first. I don’t do track days, just street use only. I should also mention that my bike is 2017 CBR600rr, so in my eyes it’s too young to do make a hash of things. Whatever I do to it, has to be right and won’t have negative effects over time where possible.

    Satnav help

Is there a setting on the iPhone or is there another app I can use that allows me to download the route I am taking so if the signal drops out I can still see the planned route without the screen from freezing?!
  14. Still new. Purchased them at the BSB event at Brands Hatch recently. Should of picked up a bigger size but fat boy here thought I could go with a size smaller and failed. Happy to post or you can collect. All size M £40 posted
  15. I had back pain to start with. Then the next time I rode my machine, it didn’t occur and hasn’t since. Just a possibility your body maybe using muscle groups it isn’t used too.
  16. I’m not sure where to put this question, I thought the general chat section would be best…. I would like to assemble my own spray paint kit to spray a few body panels on my car. Mostly turning the black plastic trims into a gloss finish instead. Now considering I am an amateur, but still want good results, what kits are there I could get and what equipment should I get? I’m also not entirely sure what I need exactly other than maybe a compressor of some description. I am happy to invest in something that has a better name to it rather than just something cheap from Amazon. Any help is much appreciated!!
  17. @Stu Was you able to attend? I was there this weekend. If I had seen this post sooner, I would of made the effort to say Hi in person.
  18. Don’t know if this will be sound advice but it’s what I’m going to suggest but keep in mind this may not be the best thing to do in all scenarios…. If you have one nearby, practice on a road you know that is wide enough. Preferably one you have seen another motorcyclist filtering on, that way you know it’s possible to filter. Also, put yourself in a “driver’s seat’ position on the road when coming to a stop behind another car and at least a cars length between you both. This way, you will have some confidence that you can be seen and that you can also see ahead easier. And, if plan to filter you’ll be in a good position to make the manoeuvre without having to move the bike too much. Another scenario, maybe look to try and filter at a junction or a big roundabout where the car your passing is turning left, and you are turning right. I found this easier to start with rather than just filtering to get ahead of the cue, too me it felt more natural to go “around” the car instead of skipping traffic! Hope that makes sense and helps to some degree.
  19. For some reason, I read this comment as “Bike Tyre-son” thinking you was being funny Sorry, it’s Friday and I just finished a gym session. I’ll see myself out….
  20. Yes, I agree with that! I have to have a destination and a purpose to go out such as meeting up with some friends or family or a day trip somewhere. I’m not one for going out and just seeing where the road takes me.
  21. That’s the thing though, I really like the bike I have! One day, I’d like to get a second bike. I have a soft spot for a Street Triple, I’d happily own another one of those.
