  1. I’m looking to get a slip-on for my CBR. I was looking at a Scorpion or an Akrapovic. I know the Akra is better but the price difference is huge. I’ve had a Scorpion before with no issues and I personally feel it is a good brand and it’s a lot cheaper. Someone has recently said though that the Scorpion in his opinion, can cause sputtering... True or False? Let me know your thoughts and suggestions.
  2. Yes, I am worried this may happen but only time will tell. From reviews, I found that shorter riders will get on better with it due to its ergonomics. I’m only 5ft 4” with an inseam of 30” and I felt very comfortable.
  3. Do you mean one of the last 600s? If so, to my knowledge no more were made from 2017. When I took it out, It felt a little “out-dated” looking at the speedo. Then I researched the bike abit more and found out why... it was based on the last and final model from 2013 when it last had an update and Honda were no longer going to try and improve it due to new Euro4 regulations that came out in 2017. I think that’s the accurate story A shame really. I’m guessing owning this bike will make it highly sought after if it they don’t ever release a newer model.
  4. Honda CBR600RR 2017 The Street Triple didn’t last that long with me, I just wasn’t merging with it. I test rode this today and instantly felt like this was home. Hopefully it will be ready next week some time.
  5. If anyone is interested, apparently the U.K. will be able to see a space shuttle launching tonight. Maybe some decent photos can be had!! I wish I had a tripod at the this time What time is the launch and how can I watch it? NASA and SpaceX are targeting a launch time of 4:33pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) - that's the local time at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The mission is scheduled to dock to the space station at 11:39am EDT am on Thursday, May 28. In the UK, those times convert to 9:33pm British Summer Time for the launch and 4:30pm on Thursday for arrival at the ISS. We should be able to see the rocket going through the skies over the UK approximately 15-20 minutes after lift-off, which would mean around 9:45pm to 9:50pm tonight. “MeteorWatch” says: "The craft will pass over the UK from a westerly direction and will head east. It may be visible lower in the southern part of the sky as it flies past for around 3 to 4 minutes. As the spacecraft passes over the UK we may see just the one or a collection of objects looking like bright stars moving across the sky. The sky will be fairly light for some especially for observers in places in the north such as Scotland. The craft should be bright enough to follow once you catch a glimpse of it.
  6. A nice clean example of a Pan-European! Ideally up to swap for something like a Honda Tranzalp but open to other options. If it’s to be sold, they seller would like £2000 o.n.o. It has a current MOT and the last MOT it had, came back with a clear sheet with no advisories. It’s been stored indoors when not in use so it is in good condition. Located in Eastbourne. Has 2 keys. It’s being sold on behalf of someone else, so if you have any questions please ask and I’ll get the answered ASAP.
  7. Well I’m not having much luck removing those marks... I’ll keep trying and what happens. Onto shooting of an evening, In this case taking shots of the moon with little, to no light. I have tried this evening already but my lens doesn’t come close to that level of zoom! Should I be looking into a tripod? I seem to be struggling with knowing my way around the camera right now so I’m not too pleased with my results. Getting something in focus isn’t too difficult, but getting the main focus of the image AND it’s background seems to be a challenge. Also, still not great pics at all when it comes to adjusting aperture and shutter speed. I know it’s all practice though I think part of my problem is knowing when and if I should be playing with those sort of settings.
  8. What are these two marks? They seem to appear across all my photos. I'm assuming something is dirty between the camera body and lens. If something requires cleaning, how and what should be used to avoid damage?
  9. I just gave it good sanding. Started with an 80 grit then used 120. Then a good primer from Crown. MDF would of been better to use but this is all I had lying around at the time.
  10. I hadn’t seen this thread until today. Here is my latest project I done at home, using materials left over from jobs.... Not sure what’s next. Hopefully sites will re-open soon, I can only do so much at home!
  11. A few questions then... 1) Is there any equipment I should look at investing in, including software and hardware? 2) Are there any recommendations of lenses and camera bodies to look into buying in the future? 3) Any suggestions on images to practice taking, and if so, how? For example, based on the equipment I do have, should I go out one evening and try the stars? Or get up early one morning and find the sunrise? Or set up shop somewhere to view the wildlife? (Again, using what I have already)
  12. Thanks for the wall of text! All joking aside, I really did read through it all and I tried to understand what I could. If you have some diagrams to show, that could help. I’d be interested! I’m confident I know what aperture and shutter Speed is, but I can’t say the same for ISO... can you please explain?!
  13. I went to the beach yesterday for a walk with the family. Took some nice photos, but when I got home and viewed them on the computer, the photos didn’t appear as good as I thought they were when I originally took them looking through the lens. I was using my Sigma lens is that helps any?! For the majority of the photos I took them in full manual mode because I heard this is the best way to learn. (Don’t know if this is true or not) Like a fool, I have deleted the bad ones so I have nothing to show you exactly what I mean. There was a photo which disappointed me the most and I’ll show you this one from the web because it will give you an idea of what it was like and what I was aiming for. It was shot a little like this one..... The problem I had with it (and it seems to be a running theme on my photos) is the Center of the image is sharp and in focus but then gets softer around the edges and makes the environment appear out of focus. I was aiming for something as crisp as the image above, that’s what I saw in my head when I took it. Also the movement of limbs were a little blurry too. I switched to sports mode on the hope this would help capture the motion better but it didn’t. I couldn’t pan much because the family was running towards the camera. I could be wrong but what I think I need to do, is adjust my camera on where it focuses on if that makes sense? If I look through the eye hole, I can see several white boxes which I can select where the main focus point is. I have always left it on the central point. It looks this...
  14. Thanks for the feedback! What is "Depth of Field"? How do you "widen the depth of field"?
  15. Yes! I am fast learning that fact. I was already looking at a "Prime" lens and was shocked at the cost of them!! I was looking for an everyday lens that I could carry with me, without having to carry my whole bag of gear all the time.
  16. Above, I have uploaded what I consider to be my best. The final image is my two kids, taken about 2-3 days ago. I am open to any feedback, positive or negative. I have more so show at request but I thought this will do for now.
  17. If I upload some photos of stuff I’ve taken in the past... will you promise not to be nice but brutally honest?!
  18. If I tell you the sort of shots I’ll be looking into, things I’d like to do, maybe that will shed some more light aswell. I like natural images and images of nature/wildlife/landscapes. I don’t like adding filters, and textures as some do. I like an image in its purest form. That said, I appreciate creativity such as rain drops against a neon background but only in its natural state. I have plans to take images of sporting and motoring events, including motorcycles so I’d like to know what’s best to practice on before investing in some tickets. I like Macros too!
  19. Im going to upload some images of them and give you the best description I can of each with my limited knowledge.... From what I can tell, this first one is Macro Zoom lense with variable aperture. The second is a Tele Zoom lense with Fixed aperture. (I think?) The last one is another Tele Zoom lense by Sigma. Also with variable aperture. I hope this is sufficient enough and also accurate. If not, let me know.
  20. Yea, I’ve already done a lot of reading on guides on the web. It’s one of those subjects I guess that you never stop learning in.
  21. Thank you for your responses so far. I have just brought myself a Canon 1100D (used) with three lenses. The standard lens which came with the camera from new is a macro lens. The other two appear to be “zoom” lenses. One is manufactured by Canon, The other is by a third party company called Sigma. The Sigma lens seems really good from what I have used of it so far. (I am still very new to this so if it is easier, I can upload photos of the lenses that I have to make sure they can be better identified.) My first question at this stage is what should I be using these lenses for? (other than taking photos, obviously) Some photos that I have taken with them have turned out great... others, not so well. I Want to know if I’m using each lens for its correct purpose. For example;- I know the macro lens is only really suited for close-ups and seeing every tiny detail. I’m assuming it won’t be so great for taking pictures of landscapes and scenery.
  22. I don’t mean just taking the odd snap here and there using a phone. I mean seriously, more like a hobby or a profession.... I’m just starting out in it and I have lots of questions and info I’d like to ask people.
  23. Haven’t watched this myself yet, but it is on my list...
