  1. I was super polite and understanding, could not have been nicer Give me sympathy dammit!!!
  2. Which model?
  3. Yeah he took the points, I have a clean licence. I'm not going to be understanding. He pulled me for undertaking which isn't illegal, apparently cos he was looking out for me. The gave me a fine instead of letting me off because my mate was caught speeding on my bike. Meanwhile I have 2 friends who had attempted breakins to their garages recently and the cops did f*ck all. Do you have faith that they'll recover or prevent bike thefts? I do not. Do I have confidence that they'll pull bikers for doing very little wrong indeed? Yes. On the weekend they have specifically labeled for one where they'll engage well with bikers?
  4. How could I have been with him - I only have one bike and he was on it! Anyway. 'just looking out for my safety' was indeed one of the things he said. What utter tosh.
  5. I thought legal was a standard size?
  6. I'm in Brighton so not much use, but, welcome!
  7. Aaaand got pulled over on the way home for 'undertaking' which isn't even illegal so why is a law enforcement officer telling me off about it?! Wasn't speeding. £100 fine for the small plate, no points. Would've got away with it cos I was polite, but my mate was pulled on my bike a couple of years ago for speeding so I get a fine?! Strange. I get that a small plate is illegal but anyway. Kinda rather he just left the latter bit out and fined me buuut I've told my mate who is gonna buy me dinner to make up for it so that's okay. Lol apparently this weekend was 'national engage well with bikers' weekend. Great work chaps.
  8. Didn't know you could do it in maps in general - thought it only did it whilst you were on a specific journey (which gives your eta Eta on a planned route - very handy too). Thanks
  9. So my bro and I don't have loads in common but he started riding earlier this year and I finally managed to get to see him for some maintenance (replaced his sprockets, chain, and rear drums) and a ride out (he's a couple of hours away, weather and a breakdown scuppered out last efforts). Had a great time!
  10. Hopefully a bit of fun Joe and worth the hassle on a gamble with such a good potential win
  11. Yeah I hear you, hard times. My mortgage is probably about to double...
  12. What do you mean, 33 is a great year!
  13. Average 50 on the M4 for what felt like 3 days I reckon, without cruise control.
  14. Yeah the ninja 600 is still going, but my dealer doesn't have any in!
  15. Sure, commuters are necessary, for me sports bikes are biking for passion - like a ferrari or something. Their demise makes me sad
  16. Yeah I'm sure the reason they're not selling them is cos no one is buying them. That's the sorry state of affairs!
  17. Mvs are cool. My pcp is coming up and I was considering it as I have a dealer very local (alfs worthing). Except that they're now no longer a dealer for some reason and the nearest is now an hour away. With their history of parts availability this isn't gonna work for me, and it's concerning that their dealership network is (I assume) reducing as opposed to expanding.
  18. Re the car comparison yeah a 2 litre can now make 500bhp and I'm cool with that. But, they're not making fast, sporty bikes at all. R7 makes 72bhp which is less than the training bike you get on a das. Ninja 4r makes more at 77bhp, and at least it's a fun revvy 4 cylinder. If it made 110 I'd actually be quite happy, but alas.
  19. So I have no experience
  20. You'll be fine, big bikes aren't scary. Enjoy!
  21. I assume they're all an absolute nightmare to deal claim wise with therefore just buy the cheapest. I've never had a claim so
  22. My local mv dealer (alfs motorcycles worthing) is no longer an mv dealer. My local ducati dealer (P&H motors Crawley) is no longer a ducati dealer. They picked up norton who do sell a sports bike but it's 60k... P&h don't have a single new faired sports bike in store. They're a yamaha, kawasaki, suzuki, ktm and honda dealer. They had an r7 (barely counts), but no r1, no ninja 6r or 10r (they had the 400), and no fireblade. Suzuki and ktm don't make sports bikes. Sad times.
  23. Welcome back! I don't think the leather has shrunk - multiple tests have shown that it has almost always been the rider 'putting on extra mass' by 'eating too many pies' (Dr Smith, 2023). Also, may I recommend the yamaha r1?
  24. Superb. Definitely on the bucket list
