  1. By God!!! My son has become intelligent (at last!). Recently he asked me how I knew how to strip, clean & fix motorbike engines and 'stuff' - Told him it was by trial and error over many years. In fact, still learning but I still love to take things apart and see f I can fix them. @Fixed' an electronic power switch yesteday! Good on you son! Phil, if Ian can't make the Ace - Can I have his butty?
  2. Course you can Roy. I'll sort it with t'missus. GOG
  3. Sure thing - Just let me know and I'll arrange for Bed, Supper, Beer and breakfast!!!
  4. Did you know that 87.3% of all statistics are made up on the spot (and this was one of them!).
  5. Please see the thread in General Chat viewtopic.php?t=16344
  6. Bu@@er. Can't do Matlock as I'm running the Quiz on the Saturday night. Can't do Sunday as I don't finish ringing till 11:00am (although, knowing Neil, he won't have got very far by then I WILL be out Saturday, just not sure when/where yet. May drop down to the Ace or, maybe across to MK and ride the grid. Anyway - Hope all have an enjoyable weekend.
  7. You mean the Services on the road to Oundle - Not on the A1 then! The Services on the A1 (with a Cafe) are after the end of the three lane section! Looks like I will not be coming as you appear to be going on the Sunday now - Don't finish ringing till 11am. Enjoy!
  8. Where, exactly, are the 'X' Services on the A1 - Are these the services with the Cafe opposite the Northern entry road to the Showground? Can't think of any other services on the A1 close to Peterborough
  9. Kill and skin the whippet (curried, baked or roast is fine). Use the skin to make your hat.
  10. No more Tuesday nights for me - The Domino season has statrted and we play on Tuesdays. Neil also (he is our CAPTAIN!). See you next year - ride safe. GOG
  11. Brake before. Set speed / gear selected Nicely into corner... Spot oil slick! Pray! But never touch the brakes - certain result (but not the one you wish for). Seriously folks - We all know how to do it but, occaisionally we all will get it wrong, then it's a case of use the brakes carefully, understanding what the effect is likely to be and try and judge that fine line between safely reducing speed without inducing spill. Take care. GOG
  12. NMan1 arranges regular runs around EA (Hunstanton / Gt Yarmouth / Brampton) and we post on 'Southern' ride outs in the main. You could look to organise an EA eevent / regular ride-out which we could look to join in from the Brampton area????? Cheers, GOG
  13. No idea - It was dark! Anyway, a bottle of wine was waiting to be drunk.
  14. Great ride...... Ride to Roy's - no rain : Ride from Roy's to the pub - Short shower (but: front end skipped twice! Rear 3 times! Foot down once!) and, Roy got 'chaved' twice. Ride back via A1 (spotted a car in the ditch (with hazards on!) on the S-Bends south of Buckden). All-in-all a good evenings entertainment. Thanks again Roy.
  15. Will join you all at the 'Northhampton Area' meeting point and ride to the 'Ace'. Please let me know the pick-up point and approximate times.
  16. Neil, If weather holds, I'll be up for this. You can follow me to Roy's if you wish.
  17. Did not do Wednesday as the f#ck#ng weather was bl##dy awfull! Will post again when I am sure of when I can get but does not look good for the next few weeks
  18. If you are experienced with paint, I would suggest stripping the frame right back and use a 2-part paint. Lots of colours available. Lots of places that will sell this (Automotive shops). Google for your nearest stockist and go & have a chat. If not happy with 2-part paints, suggest talk to spray shop and do a deal.
