1. Not really put mine through its paces yet but does what I got it for perfectly (weekly tyre top up) only normally putting a few psi in then charged back up and in bag. TBH probably will keep it when I start using ER5 even with accessory port on that as no wires to worry about unwinding, still got a 12v lead with it that I can keep on bike as well in case of emergencies.
2. Was in your position few weeks ago... (still yet to pass Mod 1 yet but thats another story). You will love the bigger bike, I was / am a bit nervy with my 125 following a near miss a year ago, still happy to jump on and ride it but just feels less secure compared to when I first started riding. Jumped on an ER6 for my training first time on bigger bike and did not know what to expect at all, within minutes I had never felt more comfortable on a bike. The bike felt so planted and just went where I wanted it to go. Speed wise bike was no scarier than 125, will only go as fast as you want it to go and at same time it is lovely having the extra power there when you need it. All in all you will love it so relax and enjoy it! Hopefully you will do better than me on mod1 though (my story on here on training forum if interested) and good luck
3. On my test I did nod off for a moment and just muttered to myself 'what an absolute twat' before I remembered I should be clicking.
4. As said click a few times but don't go mental I also found that it won't register until it's an actual hazard so in a practice one two people walk behind a van but didn't score until they emerged in road which was frustrating I had same fears as you and with things like that in practice ones didn't help but on real thing I passed comfortably and they are all fairly obvious
5. To be honest you're at awkward age and with current licensing (which will hopefully be changing as mentioned but don't hold your breath) you basically have 2 choices... Get a 125 and hold off until you're 24 and do full DAS this will mean 3 years on a 125 and 2 CBTs though. Go for A2, this is normally same price as DAS though and then you are limited to A2 bikes, after 2 years you can then take DAS (so you can get larger bike sooner) but it would mean then doing a DAS and tests again, albeit a shorter course as you'll have 2 years experience by then. Boils down to how impatient you are / what you can afford.
6. Cheers for heads up, have been tightening the back for all it's worth so will take it a bit easier. That's only my real negative with it is the annoying back, understand it is there to give it a bit of protection against rain but would have been nice if they had either put a charging port with a rubber bung over it or at least have a little rubber strap keeping hold of back when you take it off, not had mine a week and almost lost the back (in the house) countless times!
7. Did put the wifi app on phone as I managed to turn on wifi (bottom left of screen works and luckily wifi is last option on that page so could see enough to get to it and turn on) hoping the app will have the ability to change camera settings... wrong just get a horribly slow live stream so turned back off and app binned lol Yeah sound really not a concern more important to have decent video and a tidy mount which this fits bill perfectly.
8. Cheers matey much appreciated. Ok here you are @Via with it turned on and set to 30 FPS 720p Pressing the middle button each time sets it to 120 FPS WVGA (sucks) 30 FPS WVGA (really sucks) 30 FPS 1080p 30 FPS 960p 60 FPS 720p and another press takes you back to 30 FPS 720p So you need to press middle button 3 times Perfect! Spot on matey many thanks. See what you meant about sound though, watched first video... sound seems to be ok... 20mph bit windy now... 30mph argh my ears... 40mph somebody please kill me... oh there's the mute button. Otherwise lovely little camera, smaller than it looked and nice simple mounting.
9. SlowBusa or anyone else with a drift stealth 2... Picked one up cheap because it has a busted screen, don't affect operation but I can't change video mode (well I can but no idea what I'm changing it to). It's currently in 720p 30fps going by properties of video, I'm guessing it's just a press of the mode switch button to cycle through modes whilst in video mode. Can you let me know how many presses it would take to put it into 1080p (from 720p 30fps).
10. Yeah going to have to go out on the 125 as much as I can to practice them after work. Similar to what you said earlier instructor has said to practice messing them up as well, wobble shoulders 1/2 way through turn, close throttle, etc... to then practice correcting it.
11. I don't think so, car park u turn ends with a kerb and tree, if anything the test centre one is more spacious. Plus instructor has put cones in car park slightly closer than in test centre.
12. Yeah practice practice practice is only answer just so frustrated because I honestly thought I had that and those little bits nailed down during practice as I was trying different things like doing it faster / slower and a couple of times went too slow so I'd just pick up a bit of speed and bring it back under control, never put foot down... Think it boils down to brain going to mush in there so think I'll just have to keep at it until it becomes muscle memory instead of relying on my brain which is too unreliable it seems
13. Just really don't know what to do as can do them consistently in practice just goes out of the window at test centre.
14. Had my MOD1 retest today. Got about an hour practice with instructor before test, did slalom / figure 8, u-turn almost constantly, start was a bit wobbly getting used to the bike again but at the end I couldn't do it wrong, had everything down perfect every time. Went to test centre and off I went again... Slalom and figure of 8 went fine, as did slow ride and then onto the dreaded U-Turn... pulled away too slow again but this time managed to pull it back and got a decent run, done the turn and half way through just ended up slowing right down and sure enough foot went down! TBH at that point I ended test, regret it a bit now as should have got some more practice in on the faster maneuvers but I was so f**ked off just didn't see the point in wasting both our time. Really gutted this time!
15. Very lucky considering. Glad all ok.
16. Did say small bit May save the sealant for the ER5 then not that it is really much worse but prevention better than cure.
17. Opened filler cap today to have a look at water ingress... The rubber seal on filler cap seems to be doing its job but was totally full of water underneath and as soon as I've opened the filler cap it's let it all flood into tank. You can see water level is up to edge of filler neck in pic... Turns out a drain hole had blocked so cleared that out and a jet of air through... So hopefully shouldn't get anymore water in the tank now, problem is I've got half a tank of petrol/water mix to get rid of.
18. From new it had some charge in it but put it on charge anyway and was less than half hour to fully charge (240v charger has red/green indicator led). Other than that can't comment yet, I'm more concerned with natural dissipation because it will most likely spend most of its time on bike so hoping it will still be charged when needed. But bottom line with that and your questions is I've just not had it or used it enough yet to tell.
19. You'll be polishing it more than riding it Nice bike though, hope you find one you like
20. Jolly good, I got that tyre fitted this morning, got told off for having very worn brake shoes so I ordered some off eBay while I was waiting. Went into Birmingham to look at Harleys then the heavens opened so now I'm stuck in Costa in a mega garden centre waiting for the rain to stop. Snow on Monday, I don't know why I bothered. Tell me about it this weather is getting annoying now so despite 2 bikes needing some tinkering I'm staying in the dry watching tv, just has not stopped here since I've got up. Found your Harley yet?
21. Damn you fastbob ordered some sealer will do it properly
22. Whilst I've got air compressor and a portable 12v inflator which are great for the car, they are a pain for the bike. Don't have a accessory socket on bike and too much hassle dragging it out of garden into garage to use compressor. Originally got a foot pump which was fine but after a while the pressure gauge has gone so time to replace it. Decided to get a GHB rechargeable inflator from Amazon... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0734QJR7M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_NhIVAbXFEYGC4 Early impressions are good, comes with both a 240v and 12v charger. Easy to use just preset required pressure and press on button. Fairly quiet so no worries about waking neighbours doing tyres in the morning and fairly quick. Only minor niggle is there is no deflate option and works on typical pump then check cycle so if it goes over preset pressure it will stay at that and you'd need to manually deflate, that said it's normally only 1/2 to 1 psi over so could just as easily be ignored. Can't comment on battery life yet. Fairly small size as well so shouldn't be problem finding somewhere for it to be stowed on bike for emergencies.
23. Technically should never be exposed to petrol as the rust is outside the filler neck (with small amount going down on inside) which I take it is being dragged in with the water seeping into the tank. That said tbh in regards to long term with this bike I am really not fussed, if it was the ER5 would be a lot more concerned about doing it right, this I don't intend to have for more than another month or two so happy to put a plaster on it. To be fair vast majority of the blame is on me as while the ER5 is tucked in a nice dry garage, this gets parked in back garden underneath a leaky gutter (must get the ladders out at some point!) and been out there all through the snow, I was just surprised its started again at all.
