1. I'm sure the 88j has a side stand switch, and does the neutral light operate as it should (lit when in neutral)
2. Been trying to get my hands on a Honda cbr750 87-88, their cheap to buy but rare as hens teeth, there is one Mid Wales , but that one is a money pit, they were only JDM and no English Manual , but I translated one, parts are easy enough to get, but no bikes
3. OK then I will give you the answer and it is ............42 ">
4. I'll out you as a poser too. pickwick you can take the test and tell me what info is wrong with my post. Yeah , take the test ! Yes I know the answers, but he doesn't ,its only a ploy to find out what the real answers are, and I'm not going to tell him
5. I'll out you as a poser too. pickwick you can take the test and tell me what info is wrong with my post. How true, but I only self identify as a Poser on Wednesdays, Did you ever see Monty Pythons "Holy Grail" because I think your trying to flirt me into that ravine, but I'm a bit too clever for you , I'll just ignore you instead
6. You're gonna have a hard time talking to a cat
7. you are really a douch bag bob, you cant read can you? I could care less about honda twins. I have nothing to do with that post. again you couldn't be bothered to read that post either. the guy in that link thought honda wiring is the same through out the harness. It's not. It answers the poster who wanted me to change the title. some of honda wiring makes no sense. some does. this is the old moterbike restoration section. you don't you think this is valuable information for someone to read and know. that makes you a real prick because you are screwing it up for the quiet smart people who can read. perhaps this is why we did what we did in 1776. I have a sense of humor I just don't dig your stupid comments when you can't be bothered to read what I write or links I post. you see the red in the post you did not read? bob, I'm calling you out as a poser, specifically what wrong with the info in my post. I'm going to give you a test. answer yes or no. 1. the Yamaha rd350 has an alternator, one end of the field is grounded. would the chepo honda sohc 750 r/r wire in exactly the same way as the expensive Yamaha part but with honda colors. 2. the yamaha rd400 has an alternator. it has two field wires, niether is grounded. would the chepo honda ascot r/r wire in exactly the same way an the expensive rd400 r/r but with honda colors. 3. if you ground one field wire on a Yamaha rd400 can you use the cheapo honda sohc750/400f r/r. 4. does the generic magnito cn/ch250 r/r wire any honda twin the same way as the expensive unit on na honda site, ricks site or Oregon motors site. You have got to be kidding, what if @fastbob answered all your questions correctly ,would you give him another test, or are you trying to impress us with your knowledge, this site is not about who's got the fastest draw or the biggest dick, and I would advise him not to get involved with your little test,he serve's this forum well. Behave yourself
8. Did you check the 20amp FI fuse ,and check the 20amp Headlight Fuse (does the Headlight come on) and relay ,which will affect start
9. As you said in your original Post ,that this was an intermittent fault , which points more to wiring than anything else, and Honda wiring is poor especially that age , it goes quite brittle, did you get the 5v on the test
10. Another thing you should try is ,while the ignition is on wiggle the two front lighting harnesses connectors( Blue and Grey), can remember which one it runs through but the BAS runs through it and if the connector is not fitting tightly the BAS will operate a no start issue , the 600rr front lighting harness are well known for this fault
11. Hi , forget the 9volt and Pink wire ,thats in the USA and they dont have HISS but a Diode in the Ignition switch that reduces the 12v to approx 9v, which it wants to operate the ignition, you need to be checking the Yellow/Red and Green/Orange wires at the ECM and Antenna connectors where you should get a Voltage DC of approx 5v, have you retrieved any faults through the DLC, the Halo around the ignition switch reads the transponder in the key, passes it to the ECM which in turn confirms with the transponder giving you ignition
12. No its not been connected up wrong, what I'm saying is the Diaphragm is bugger
13. Here it is
14. Very true but this still indicates an open float valve . Ah but not if it was coming via the Fuel Tanks Vacuum pipe
15. Petrol tank has a vacuum operated valve , if diaphragm in valve is ruptured it could be filling the vacuum pipe down to the carb
