Been looking thro the manual, and always seems to come back to the points, when you put everything back together and adjusted the contact breaker gap ,did you put the insulated washer back in the right position, I know its obvious but if your like me in the rush to get it going things can be missed
  2. maybe's we are missing something, and may have to re-install the battery into the system, just to enable a proper + and - route around the frame , seems the circuit isnt being made, as lights work off the Gen you wont need that , but maybe the Ignition Switch and possibly bypass it, the Silicon Rectifier is enable through it, dont know what you want to do with this bike , is it a full restore?
  3. Think your getting there now matey, how about a separate wire running from an earthing bolt on the coil straight to a good earthing point on the frame, see how you go with that ,
  4. Right, then the 6v is coming out from the Gen ,but not going through the Primary and Secondary windings to produce the Spark, HT lead and windings tested OK, have you tried pulling off the HT sparkplug cap and earthing while kick starting
  5. no problem matey, would like to get to the bottom of it, so I take it there's no Battery on the bike and you dont have an Ignition switch, so looks like could be wiring and Earthing problem ,with only the Black/White wire coming from the Gen ,6v at the coil/condenser , and you have tried 3 other coils ,there doesnt appear to be a return to Earth, how about looking through the Earth connectors to see if you have a problem there, havent got a pdf manual for this but I do have a paper one , so can grab some pages for you and send pdf if needed
  6. Have you tried a new spark plug and hung against the block to see if you have a spark when you turn over

  8. Just to be clear, from the Generator, the Black wire to the connector changes colour to the Black/White wire and goes to the Ignition Coil and Condenser, is that what you have, the Yellow wire from the Generator goes to the Headlight control switch
  9. Have you set up the timing marks against the opening of the contact points

  11. I'm assuming you have a pre 85, with kickstart , but which year?
  12. Have you checked Points, Timing , Condenser and Ignition switch

Really think the Labour Party should go back and look at the Tribune Group and Fabian Society for a more level headed look of politics, left wing thinking is killing off any chance of an opposition in Parliament, I was a member of the Labour party and a shop steward some 20 years ago, This time I voted Tory but still believe we should have a considered opposition , New Labour and Momentum have killed the ethos of what means Labour off

From what I can see , you might need a new Instrument panel , but before that there is a few things you could check, can you get any error codes up by shorting the data link connector, have you tried the reset button on the Instrument panel , and have a look at the info button on you righthand handle bar gear, I see you stop the bike with the kill switch (which is ok) , but there could be a problem with your info button as thats in the same place

Try bypassing the side stand switch, follow the wiring from the side stand to the connector on the harness , pull the connector out , and on the harness side of the connector insert a wire into the connector joining the Black/Yellow and Green/White wires that will bypass the side stand switch, then try moving off if it stalls again then its not the sidestand switch
  19. Leave no STONE unturned , but dont get yourself in a JAM
  20. They look right for their time, maybe you could experiment with new ones
  21. The "crash bar" is a frame part that holds the mirrors and screen steady
