  1. Dont bump in first ...3 or 4 at least 2nd minimum ... Chances of bike turning in 1st via a small push is ZERO. Best thing to do is prepare is to start before starting .. Disconnect spark leads and remove plugs and attempt to start ... this gets all the required fluids flowing . Once you have established oil pressure is sufficent and fuel has filled the system then check for spark at plugs..if ok put plugs back in and go for start . If no spark Check idiot lights ie neutral light showing Check kill switch Check fuses Check wiring connectors and polarity Check clutch switch if fitted Still no spark .. check coils and all relevant ignition systems Spark but no fuel .. Check fuel is flowing to carb Yes .... carb maybe not correctly built No check fuel level, tap, pipework, pump

  5. Numberplate is assigned to the chassis and its unique Vin. If its not that VIN and VRN combo then its not that 'reg' And it will not be able to MOT it with incorrect numbers Report and do not take ownership of bike

  7. Nothing states clothing etc has to comply as its not part of the vehicle but vehicles have construction and use regs to comply with.. Also . To most seeing a red reflector it is deemed as the further most rear projection of a vehicle... ie pulling up with no risk of hitting said vehicle . But having a forward facing red reflector located on panniers there is 3 ft of bike protruding from the reflector . Stick with White To Front Red to Rear And Amber to side And you know your actions have not caused any confusion which may result in an incident .
  8. Cb250 Look on side of engine somewhere it will have some numbers followed by cm3 . This is engine size ie 200cc 250 cc
  9. If having a P plate on your bike reassures you DO IT and sod the ' oh your asking for trouble' . It is others people's attitude at fault as they see the P and don't change their attitude and behaviour to accommodate your newly acquired and developing skill set. Only you can gauge your anxiety levels and coping strategy .
  10. No the problem is that they find their right leg rests on the rear brake and as it is a prosthetic they are not aware of it ...

  14. Sr are renowned for the cdi unit to go ( most restrict power to 45mph ) Check the wiring connector for the cdi/ecu as also prone to corrosion.
  15. Best thing to do is find a mot station that does Class 1 mot ( motorcycle) Locally ( google) They may be able to collect and do the required work Failing that and depending on when the MOT runs out and vehicle is taxed you may be able to use a breakdown company to move the bike under the cover provided .if you dont hold cover join up and take out the policy and then wait for 24 hours minimum before using to avoid possible surcharged (relevant cover depending on how far it has to go ( if more than locally ie more than 10 -15miles but less than 50 ( check terms and conditions for national recovery time frames for first use after purchasing ) Or they may attend and succesfully plug the tyre as a temporary fix which will then allow you to legally ride it to a MoT station if you are insured and the vehicle is booked Mot is £29 Or local man in van etc
