  1. Out for a wee run last night, sadly without Revs, but with Steve R1. Down to Biggar via Strathaven and Muirkirk. A good wee run, but loads of flies about.

    Olympics

Too many activities that are not classic Olympic sports. Never really been into watching the Olympics or Commonwealth Games, but have seen the disruption and complete waste of money in the build up to games here in Glasgow for in a couple of years time. It's not about the athletes any longer like you say. Just like the World Cup too. It's about how you sell your country, how lovely your stadiums, how big is your opening and closing ceremonies, and how many fireworks can you pump into the air. Not to mention, how can we assist in paying for this. Oh yeh, road restrictions with heavy fines. Glad I am not a Londoner having to put up with all that crap. Now, think of how all that money could have been better spent on the likes of the NHS. Makes it all quite sickening really.

  5. Last one was Parkway Drive in Glasgow with my two neices. Next up is The Cult, then Evile, both in Glasgow.
  6. Nope, but we are thinking of possibly Cadwell on the Sunday of the Keswick weekend.
  7. No problem. There is also a liquid system which is excellent called Liquid Plastics (it's basically a liquid PVC), made by the same people who own Sarnafil (Sika), but it is likely to be more expensive than the single ply. We just finished 12,000m2 of it on the new hospital in Kirkcaldy, and also the hub section of the new Veldodrome in Glasgow for the Commonwealth games. The single ply Sarnafil system we used to carry out the roofing to the two new hospitals in Glasgow.
  8. Don't go for GRP, go for a single ply PVC like Sarnafil, Protan, Flag, Armourplan. You will get better guarantees and agrement certificates verifying life expectancy in excess of 40 years. Have seen roofs in Switzerland covered in this stuff that were installed over 50 years ago and are still looking and performing like brand new. Having been in the roofing game for over 20 years, granted working on commercial properties, the Sarnafil system is the rolls royce of this market. Even so, you should still be able to get an un-insulated roof (or a cold roof as it's known) for about the £1600 your GRP guy is offering. Go for the lead grey colour too, as the standard light grey will be dazzling if we ever get bright sunshine again. If you are insulating it to use it as living space, then you would require insulation that is approx 150mm thick if a PIR (polyisocyanurate) board is used, to meet building regs of 0.14 W/m2K u value. Of coourse you could insulate it in the ceiling space using the quilt insulation, however you would need to contact an insulation company to carry out the calculation you need (eg. Kingspan, Recticel, Rockwool) If you already have insulation there, then you would need to know what kind and thickness it is so that a u value calculation can be carried out to avoid interstitial condensation. Hope this helps. If you were local to us I would have got it done for you. However, if you contact the companies listed, they will give you contractors local to you who would carry out domestic works.
  9. How the USA see it. Good wee film. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9LNMsFjI48
  10. Is it alright if my friend comes down to this as well ? Just call him Steve R1.
  11. First pic is the Superstock 1000 race. The other two are the first superbike race. Another couple. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/Ratser/BSB%20Knockhill%202012/IMGP1185.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/Ratser/BSB%20Knockhill%202012/IMGP1187.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/Ratser/BSB%20Knockhill%202012/IMGP1190.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/Ratser/BSB%20Knockhill%202012/IMGP1191.jpg
  12. Was chatting to the guy from Samsung Honda at Knockhill yesterday and he explained the suspension and the rest of the changes from my bike to this one. Had the all black one there. Was very impressed, and this will definitely be purchased next year.

  14. Was looking out for you guys, as I thought I would recognise you Ed from pics on here, and said as much to Revs. Never seen pics of Gayle so wouldn't know her. Got a couple of pics too and will post them later. Not as good as that one though. Great weather though and so glad we took the bikes up.
  15. Nice wee run up to Knockhill with Revs yesterday for the BSB, and back again. Roads were wet when we set off, but glad we took the bikes. Loads of bikes up there, just a pity about the surface of the exit roads. Great racing though.
  16. Am planning to change next year, and it will be for another one of these, and in all black too.
  17. Excellent day on Sunday. Scott Redding and Cal Crutchlow being the highlights. But just to see Stoner ride that Honda in person was immense. Think apart from me and the two Ozzy blokes who were staying at our hotel, there weren't many Stoner fans. Interesting to note the lack of Repsol Honda gear on sale, yet almost all the others had large tents. Yamaha merch was pretty poor, Ducati was extortionate, and VR46 had a massive amount of merch that wasn't too expensive. But sadly I missed out on getting a Super Sic t shirt as they didn't have any in my size left. Had great seats as well on Woodcote corner, but walked up to Abbey for the Moto 3 and Newcomers race. Good to see Shakey and Sam Lowes in the Silverstone 200 as well.
  18. Thanks for the info, was looking at Glenlough campsite near Union Mills, 350 tents, heard it's one of the bigger campsites. Most likely pay the deposit for the ferry and campsite now and see how things turn out. That is another one that is right on the circuit, and would require evacuation prior to road closures.
  19. Revs and myself should be there again too. TC GarethNW Littlecat Rebel Rach UK190 Boothy YORBANDIT Augustburnsred Devans Paul Revs Ratser
  20. At the moment all you will need to pay is a £20 deposit for the ferry, and maybe a small deposit for whatever campsite you get. Quarterbridge Rugby Club is the one we have been at the past 3 years, and only went to Ramsay FC one for a wee change. Quarterbridge has more facilities, but bar and clubhouse were not as nice and clean, and they had a snack van outside it instead of a cafe inside. Quarterbridge one you are also inside the circuit so need to get up and out before they close the roads, or else you are stuck there.
  21. Must have recorded the wrong shows then, as I could swear all the coverage was on ITV4 HD. Did seem to be a bit all over the place, although I would imagine the delays to most of the races caused editing problems in time for those evenings shows.
  22. Hey mate. Hope you get to go next year. This year I was £200 odd for the ferry, £7 per night camping, and spent over £600 on food, beer, cigarettes, fuel, merchandise etc. This years campsite was very good, with a bar which opened at 5pm until 11pm, and a clubhouse open all day that had a wee cafe in it run by a mad french guy. Facilities were a little limited though, with only 3 showers, and two actual toilets (although there were urinals). But it was about a 5 minute walk from Parliament Square at Ramsay. Easy access to the Mountain Road or the Laxey Coast road, and a good amount of parking for bikes. Buses to Douglas were about £5.20 return, or you could get an all day saver for £7 which meant you could hop on and off anywhere on the island.
  23. Offended ? No. More like laughing our asses off at the stupidity. what's so stupid about having a good time with getting together with the family and celebrating our countries heritage..? Exactly that. This country's heritage. Corrupt to the core.
