  1. The power will be restricted to meet legal requirements so don't worry about it. Ceramic is harder than metal and should be trouble free. Just be gentle with it. Remember Steady on those new tyres for the first few miles. The brakes will not be at their best till they've bedded in. Keep an eye out for leaks and bits dropping off or working loose.
  2. The reason for disconnecting the earth is to protect the sensitve electronics and electrics . A slip with a spanner or screwdriver may cause a short circuit. The natural resistance of the body means that a high voltage is needed to pass a current through it. Industrial power tools use a 110 volts supply and are therefore safer. High voltage combined with a high amp output is dangerous. High voltage alone will not kill. Hence the humour of having a stooge hold the high tension cable. 12 volts won't bite. Be a bit of a nightmare riding in the rain if it did. And washing the bike could be a bit twitchy. When messing with high voltage live cables and circuits I was trained to use one hand. It looks a bit casual and some sparks put one hand in their pocket to keep it out of the way. This helps to prevent a short up one arm and down the other and across the heart. A good belt cheers you up no end anyway
  3. Please. How on earth will 12v kill you? Change the battery. The dimming brake light when indicating may just be another symptom of a failing battery.
  4. The best crash protector is your head. Use it. Have it filled with information. Make sure it's awake, turned up to full and not contaminated with toxins. Give it time to adjust to the new enviroment. Listen to it's fears and warnings and stay in the comfort zone. Maintain the bike well and plan ahead. Don't rush ,let it come to you and don't chase it. And stop worrying about falling off or you will
  5. Good quality commando boots. 10 hole. Wax makes them water proof. Walking boots don't come up high enough to protect your ankle from abrasion injuries. The boot you pick should fit snuggly to stop it coming off and to hold your bones together in the event of an off. See the case studies in this section.
  6. Fascinating. Leather is my preference and now I can say it's safe too
  7. A silk underhelmet works great on all sorts of levels. I find my helmet doesn't get so smelly since I don't have hair. Perhaps my head is cleaner Try a No2. Can't write anymore the innuendo filter on my PC has started smoking.
  8. Drill holes in the end plate
  9. Not telling. You'll all be using it and then I'll have to queue.
  10. Mway on the bike £2.99 for coffee One word.................................FLASK And if you had a medium........... surely she could have contacted someone who knew where to find a bacon waggon.

  12. Hein Gericke have a store in Preston. Stuarts leathers are in down town Preston.
  13. £2.50 for a cup of coffee How the other half lives. A plastic cleaner will clean plastic
  14. The voltage regulator is low on the frame on the 535. Might have had a clout. Check the fluid level in the battery too. And......................look where you're going
  15. Can't beat mr sheen for well......every thing shiney really.
  16. I have various sizes of leathers for my ever changing paunch. A hole in each leg would allow you to stick your arms down the waistband and grab the bars through the holes.
  17. Experienced and talented riders do all sorts of things that novices and mere mortals shouldn't attempt. Stay within your comfort zone and ride to your own abilities.
  18. Drag pipes help loads when filtering. Some look perplexed wondering what the noise is, but most seem to just get out the way
  19. And it will get worse, rapidly. Easy fix though, if it's just the seals. Check for pitted/chipped chrome.
  20. You got the right tyre on? Right way round? Check the rear end too. Wheel bearings, suspension etc.
  21. If the brake works fine but there's a lot of travel in the pedal you may need to adjust the pedal position.
  22. Best way to break in leathers is to go to bed in them.
  23. Surprising how good the service gets when a 20% commission on over a grand is at stake. I kitted myself out top to toe for the price of your gloves. Shop around and then haggle hard. Doesn't matter how little you pay if it's good gear. And dear leather still goes smelly. Keep an eye on the bathroom scales be a shame to see it on e bay next year. Titanium knee sliders on a 125? I think I'd have been asking for a spare visor for the helmet
  24. Does it matter what they look like? Function over form every time. PS Are you related to the Stig
