    No Oil

Check the oil as part of your pre ride checks not every six months. Some engines use a little, some a lot. None run for long without any.
  4. 50 is 30, 80 is 50, 120 is 75 and 160 is a ton. A mental converter is dead easy to fit. You soon get used.
  5. Baby oil would be a good but expensive treatment.
  6. I like soft pads. A bit more cleaning but less wear on the disc.
  7. Soft pads aren't that soft, Any sponginess will be down to air in the system or tired hoses
  8. http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp Try Radiator top hose or bottom hose.
  9. 47K It's only just run in. Change your oil and filter and air filter more often than the manual says, stay away from the red line, and it'll run forever. This post by no means should be considered as any sort of warranty
  10. Just a thought. It hasn't got car oil in the engine has it?
  11. Might be that the cable has stretched or become dislodged or something has bent or snapped off. You are correct. When the plates have worn out you get no drive
  12. WD40 will provide a temporary solution. There's a spray you can get that provides a permanent silicone seal. Apply to a clean and dry ignition on a warm motor and leave overnight. Can't for the life of me remember its name. Ignition damp seal or similar.
  13. Isn't the simple answer that the 125 is restricted in its power output to conform to legal requirements.
  14. It must fit from inside the head then. To be replaced by removing the head. As good an all rounder WD40 is , it's not the best penetrating oil on the market. Get yourself some dedicated penetrating oil preferably containing graphite and let it soak for 24 hours.
  15. http://www.partfinderukltd.com/?gclid=C ... 5QodpDG2cw http://www.bike-breakers.info/ Have a look on here for a replacement engine. Shouldn't be too hard to replace a 125 unit. No great weight. It'll be easier to stick a different engine in , then you can do up the old engine in your own time no pressure. Hard to sell a knackered bike. Easy to sell a good runner with a spare engine. The skills you'll pick up will stand you in good stead for all your motoring life. Any tools you can't pick up at the car boot you can hire. Following a manual for the first time and having the engine fire up is a feeling money can't buy
  16. Will the gear shift not adjust to accomodate your boot.
  17. Remember to assume the position when trying on leathers. Sleeves may seem a little long till you stretch out your arms and trousers may seem large till you get on the bike. Made to measure is allways an option or as has been said buy a close fit and have them tailored. Myself , I went for the buy them big and eat pies option

  19. No need to spend a fortune. I managed to get helmet, boots, gloves, leather jacket and trousers for just under £300. The most important thing is the fit. Especially the helmet. Remember to assume the riding position. Trousers and sleeves need to be a little longer than normal to allow for riding position. Take someone with you who knows the ropes and if you find everything in one shop , don't be afraid to ask for a discount. In fact ask any way
  20. I only nod on speed bumps and cobbles

  22. http://www.silvermans.co.uk/Products/ta ... fault.aspx You're welcome Edit: Bumholes they've got my jacket £30 cheaper
  23. Just apply Vaseline to your hair , duct tape your ears back and pull. Take some aspirin with you cos you might get a head ache A bit like trying to wear shoes three sizes too small Remember it's a piece of safety equipment not a fashion accessory
