  1. I lost my fear of asking stupid questions a while ago!
  2. I'll pay the whopping costs shortly by PayPal, then start getting excited. First step is sourcing a small tent - my current one is definitely not motorbike friendly! How many people are likely to be going? Actual confirmed list of attendees in post 1 seems light compared to the number of replies in this thread!
  3. I have used advanced negotiating techniques. They were super effective! A day's leave for Friday to spend with the wife on her birthday results in me being able to attend the rally! Huge success.
  4. I have glasses too, and an integrated sun visor - up to 4 lenses! Really wish I had a Pinlock for my glasses sometimes!
  5. hello there thats good that you feel better riding have you been riding bikes for long No, not long at all. Did my CBT and DAS in Nov/Dec last year, got my bike mid-Jan, and have apparently done 1,250 miles since then.
  6. As someone still building confidence for the first time, lots of riding is definitely the answer for me. Have found myself doing a lot of riding the last couple of weeks, and on the way in to work this morning had a sudden moment of thinking ”I'm noticeably better at this than I was a month ago”. It's a mix of bike handling skills and increasing road awareness which has given me more confidence, and it feels good! Don't get me wrong - I'm no London motorbike courier weaving in and out, but I'm filtering in places I didn't a few weeks ago, and am notably more confident in corners and on roundabouts etc. Had a few moments on some of the twistier roads where I felt I really nailed a corner or two, which has given me even more desire to improve my riding and get more out of the whole experience.
  7. Guilty as charged m'lud. Do you mean cleaning only the visor, rather than the inside face of the Pinlock insert itself? Thought it had a coating on it which you shouldn't touch.
  8. I picked up a second hand scala rider G4 for £50, and am very happy with it so far. Only used it solo with my phone so far though.
  9. Google doesn't provide speed. This would only work if you were accused of stealing knickers of a line in Kent when you were in Newcastle giving it large in the Bigg Market. Me? Being nicked for speeding is a hazard drivers and riders face. I'd pay up and get on with life. I'd rather confess to nicking knickers in Kent than admit giving it large in the Bigg Market!

    Hobbies..

Do meals out and drinking beer count as hobbies?
  11. And I'm bottom! Clearly a fault in the system, I demand a steward's inquiry.
  12. Another helpful thing I've started doing with my android phone is putting it into Android Auto mode when it's mounted in the car - means you get bigger buttons, a simpler layout and access to only Maps, phone and audio apps. Will read out messages (including WhatsApp) if you want, but you can't actually view them, and has loads of spoken commands too. Also means it's harder to "just have a quick look" at something you shouldn't while driving.
  13. Looks great mate, glad you got something sorted!
  14. +1 for Nikwax. They do something to wash the clothes with then a second one to treat them. Use it on all my cycling, skiing, walking gear.
  15. CMC Clay Cross are doing a ride out on the evening of Weds 21st June - the longest day of the year. Anyone interested? https://www.facebook.com/events/1532358110138368/?ti=as
  16. I hope the cheese and pineapple on sticks will be mounted on a potato wrapped in foil. The finest of foods.
  17. The ticking noises are probably just the bike cooling down too - pretty much all vehicles with engines will tick when first stopped.
  18. I did the B6047 today too, was good fun! Lots of bikers out and about! I'm in Nottingham, but only just beginning to explore on two motorised wheels.
  19. If it's bike chatter then it's never too long ...although I don't see any kawasakis in the list..... (haha I am joking) Totally not joking.
  20. Congrats! What're you in the market for then?
  21. I used to really enjoy PC gaming, mostly with a like-minded bunch of absolute idiots. Brilliant fun. Slowly withdrew to solo gaming on the 360, for Oblivion, Skyrim, GTA4 and GTAV, as I found I had less time. Now I can't remember when I last had a serious session of gaming. Tried to restart both GTAV and Skyrim, but just never quite got into them the same.
