  1. Muh freedoms! How can so many if them not believe in evolution? Reckon a few of the people in that video are eligible for Darwin awards by now!
  2. I've always just used the Google account method, which works brilliantly. Just need to make sure the contacts from your SIM are all stored on the phone and then synced online. However, many shops will transfer things over for you if you pop in - could try a branch of whichever network you're with (assuming it's a high-street one).
  3. I have one I've used lots in the past, usually when packpacking or cycling. Definitely a great purchase if you need to travel light, and wouldn't be without mine at times. They do get you dry, but you'll never feel quite as dry as with a normal towel. Not enough to get your clothes damp when getting dressed, but don't expect quite the same outcome! They dry fairly quickly too, but benefit from being properly wrung out if you can. I agree about them being a pain to get back in the pouch though!
  4. Congrats! Hope there's some dry weather for you soon!
  5. This morning it was the nob on his mobile at the lights, who was just a bit too slow noticing they'd changed, causing me to lose the toes of my left foot to lava.
  6. GREEN!
  7. Is it when the African Swallow passes you at 35 mph during its migration . Unladen? Depends on its favourite colour.
  8. Just down the road, so am tempted to pop along on Sunday. What's a newbie to expect? Only time I've been to any form of motor-racing is truck racing there last year!
  9. For waterproof overtrousers I've had several people recommend ex-army goretex stuff on eBay.
  10. The new shop is not quite what you think. They only have a very small selection on show. It's more like an Argos for bike stuff rather than a shop. I can see why they've done it this way, their business model is online retail. Just a little heads up... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Ta - I've been there before, so know what to expect. Was able to "order" anything they had in stock from their Argos-style terminals, and able to try things on. Means you can't quite browse in the same way as other shops, but if you have a shortlist of what you want to look at then it's still perfectly easy. However, as I'm not looking to buy anything, it won't matter for me anyway. Definitely not. No siree. No bike-related purchases for me on Sunday.
  11. I'm off for a ride out to Skeggy on Sunday, and we're swinging by sportsbikeshop near Boston on the way. Not currently looking to buy anything, so might leave the top box and panniers at home to make sure it stays that way!
  12. Well an evening of searching shows that the closest insurance I can get for that category of bike is for the GSX1250FA, which is still double my current cost. However, a Tiger 1050 of a similar age to my current bike is only ~£250 more. Different style, I know, but I like them a lot and they've got more torque and HP than the VFR I rode! Insurance is weird. Might check out part-ex prices over the weekend.
  13. Happy birthday!
  14. This may come as a surprise, but insurance quotes for the Sprint GT was the same as for the VFR. Any other bikes out there in the same category?
  15. Haha, I know. But as my wife will happily tell you, I'm not usually patient when I've set my heart on something!
  16. It is secondary research though!
  17. We'll my current insurer, Hastings, won't insure it without 2 years NCB and it being stored in a locked garage, notwithstanding that my current bike lives in the drive. Apparently they can refer it to the underwriter, but given that other quotes from comparison sites are triple the current cost, I think I'll be parking this idea for a while! * groan * This had been about the most exciting thread I've read all year ... but what a flat squib of an ending. I feel so cheated. Think how I feel!

  19. I've spent this week being berated for mentioning motorbikes, by a friend who talks constantly about cars and knows a frankly unhealthy amount of information about every car ever.
  20. Going to see what my insurance company say before taking this idea any further!
  21. No. Not quite yet. Dangerously close though! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201705045092886?atmobcid=soc3
  22. Wotsit look like?
  23. Definitely did feel twist-and-go at times. Loved it! Good to know about the positioning. Will have a play around with quotes and see what happens, but I wasn't previously looking at VFR/Sprint type bikes, so should probably brace for disappointment! Don't think I could hack a naked bike, but the buffeting from the windshield at speed can be at least as annoying!
