That's more than just one aspect of what the OP is looking for. Add a pillion and it's the Speedmaster version. There's another aspect for you.

I have a whole school assembly on the theme of wisdom this morning. I'm sitting here wondering how much of these stories I can include without getting parental complaints. With our lot any mention of poo creates great excitement.

I like the use of socks but white spirit is too harsh for chains. Use paraffin. In my younger and more foolish days I used white spirit on a chain and it very quickly developed seized links. Just be careful if you have a tarmac drive though. Paraffin will melt a hole in it.

Apart from having a chain the bike you are describing is a Triumph Bobber. With a CoC Customs sprung seat mod. 1200 engine but it's their high torque tune so big and lazy when bimbling around, but plenty of instant grunt when overtaking. Keep it between 3 to 4k and it pulls like a train. Huge amount of engine braking. Even ridden like you stole it will get you 60mpg. Low centre of gravity and it handles much better than the looks suggest. Stock suspension is pretty basic especially the tiny rear shock. The CoC sprung seat is about £150 and transforms comfort. Single seat and as built no luggage capacity though you can add panniers if you want to. If you want a pillion go for the Speedmaster version.

Wow. That's all I can say. Wow. That's an amazing skill to have. Back on rant mode. It gets worse. My new pressure washer arrived today. I got very excited. Plugged it in and ....... nothing. The trip blew again. Turns out we had a new electricity panel installed about a month ago and the trip for the garage is faulty. So I just threw away a perfectly good pressure washer.

Too true. When I'm not messing about in my Streaker dinghy I sail a radio controlled yacht. Last year our club decided to try a one class series using the Dragonforce 65. As the name sugests it's just 65cm long - there are bigger boats but the deciding factors were the price - the full thing is on the water for under £300 which is cheap for rc sailing. And the fact that you can fit a fully rigged boat on the back seat of most cars. We get a lot of people scoff at our 'toy' boats, until they have a go and realise how much focus is needed to sail them well. Once they've had a go they end up joining us.

Looking online I see that if I buy a Karcher K5 direct from them they offer a 6 year warranty. Given my track record I might take them up on that.

My pressure washer packed up this evening. That's the third one in five years. Is it possible to buy one that isn't made in China?

Just been to escort a young lady to her prom. Choccy was presented. I am now hoovering the patio wearing a crash helmet. Our 3 year old granddaughter believes this to be the ultimate way to spend Friday evening.

Sometimes life is tough. Due to family commitments my variety of mates couldn't all ride on the one day. So as it's my week off I've arranged rides on both Thursday and Friday. Yesterday was Sleap aerodrome for brekky. Today it's Old Stores. Then a prom ride this evening for a the daughter of another mate. She wants to arrive on the back of her dad's bike accompanied by a lot of badass bikers. It's not even as if I get a quiet weekend to recover. We're taking the smaller granddaughter to the beach - she's never been to a beach before. I expect much sand will be eaten.

Somewhere I read recently of a similar issue and it turned out to be the plugs even though they looked fine. It was something to do with low voltage causing the plugs to glaze, or something similar along those lines. The guy changed the plugs and all was well. It happened after battery failure and he'd bump started the bike. Then it just wouldn't run right. It was the only time I've ever heard of this so it may just have been coincidence but someone posted explaining the science behind it and jn his case it sorted things out. No promises....

Despite the large number of speed cameras it's still a great place to ride, though it can get busy. Even the 50mph roads can be quite relaxing through lovely scenery. The Flash Bar Cafe just outside Buxton is to be recommended. Good local produce, but it's not very big.

Trundling along the M57 this morning I passed a motorbike cop, who was riding without any gloves on. Bit odd, I'd have thought gloves were pretty essential. Plus it was quite chilly. I had my mid-season gloves on and my fingertips were just feeling on the verge of being cold. I've never ridden without gloves. Even a low speed spill can cause huge damage to your hands.
