  1. Did a bit more on the "stop watch". Photoshoped and expanded the BMW round logo to fit the hub. Found a suitable place in the garage to hang it when it's finished.
  2. Is this on the FZR? They suffer from emulsion tube wear and run rich, mine did and I had to replace them ,genuine only when I did mine.
  3. Hello and welcome. Storing bikes can result in all sorts of issues when you try to recomission them; corrosion, fuel gumming, rubber perishing. I'd look at; Rusted fuel tank Leaking fuel tap Perished fuel lines Clean the carb out, could be float sticking causing overflow out the bottom of the engine. Replace all the seals and gaskets in carb. Suggest you take some pics of where the fuel is leaking from so we can try to help. Do you have a manual? Changing the oil is a good idea after the lay up, does it have a filter or screen filter?
  4. M3 calipers rebuilt; new pistons, seals and bleed nipples. New flexi hoses on order. I have just replaced the front discs and pads so thought I'd make a garage clock from one of the discs. Clock mechanism and an M3 sticker on order. Want to get a BMW round logo sticker of 160mm in diameter to stick in the centre and I am going to put the M3 sticker at the 3 o'clock position.
  5. The Arcturus hyperdrive could also be fitted, good for 600mph
  6. Just some Halfords enamel paint I found in the garage mixed with a bit of white spirit to make it sprayable.
  7. I'm rebuilding a spare pair of calipers for my M3. Used my hobby compressor and cheapo Aldi spray gun for the first time and pretty pleased with the results.
  8. I've looked at a few. I honestly really love the style of the older superbikes. Certainly 2001-2006 bikes to me look fantastic. The only thing that does put me off getting something like that is the commute to work. Its 30 miles and into central Manchester so want something that's comfortable if I'm honest. I'm just not that clued up on nakeds of that era Bandit,Hornet, Fz6

    SORN

I SORNed all my bikes and car at the beginning of April and just got OHs Beemer diesel on the road now between us. Going to switch over to my car tomorrow just so it's not sat around for 2 months.
  10. Have you looked at bikes that fall into classic insurance, 20 years or so in age depending on the ins company? Plenty of decent big bikes in that era, R1 for example;mine is 20 years old next year. ZX9,Fireblade,GSXR etc.
  11. Easy Rider The Wild One Wild Hogs Sons of Anarchy
  12. Don't forget to throw away any deodorant and stop shaving.
  13. Hello and welcome. Great work on the EXUP. I had a 93 RU previously, great bike.
  14. I would have like to seen him put his warp drive into an old Austin Allegro and took it up to 88mph on Barry promenade and gone back to whatever planet he came from.
  15. What's so special about this bolt ? Is it unique to the bike?
  16. Cheaper to hire or borrow a van and take to the mot station than muck about insuring them?
  17. I think we had one of those. Spitfire was better.
  18. My Dad was having a tidy out of some cupboards and found a scrapbook I made of a family holiday we went on in 1978. We went on a day trip to Calais on one of the SR.N4 hovercraft. All I remember is when it started of going up like being in a lift and how incredibly noisy it was. I pasted the ticket in the scrapbook, £32.50 return for 2 adults and 3 kids Never see the likes of them again. And talking of machines we will never see again reminded me that my older brother went on a pleasure flight on Concorde. I'm envious he did that as that would have been an experience of a lifetime.
  19. Took the fairing off the R1 and gave it all a good clean. And before you know it, I'd got the rear suspension out aswell. Didn't realise the suspension bolts were hollow All back together. Degunged the side stand pivot and found those bolts hollow aswell. Found one of the suspension bearings and bush have seen better days so need to get ordering.
  20. OH was clearing out all the cr@p under the stairs and found a bag with all of our old mobiles. The Nokia, bottom left was my first mobile and not used it for 10yrs or so. Found the charger and it switched on straight away. The phone was bullet proof, dropped it loads of times and still worked fine.
  21. Replaced the window sill on a small kitchen window as it was totally rotten. Originally this was the pantry window in the corner of the kitchen and is a steel framed Crittall design, much to my surprise my OH knew what it was, I'd never heard of it. Made the sill from scratch, put the 10 degree angle on it, cut the groove underneath to stop the rain running under it and really quite pleased with the result.Need to replace the putty when i can get hold of some .Just got to glossthe frame tomorrow. All I can say is thank f#k for UPVC Windows, I really couldn't face all the upkeep if the whole house had wooden windows.
  22. On the silverwing, nuff said
