  1. Sure is. P reg, 1975 Owned it since 1996
  2. Keep that GT380 under wraps! Got a lot of affection for them.......a GT380J was my first brand new bike in April 73. Don't worry, its tucked up in the garage with a fresh coat of ACF50. A pic of it with its 2 stroke stable mate and my old EXUP.
  3. They have gritted the roads around Rugby tonight so summer is definitely over for all my good toys.
  4. I take it yours is a British RGV250 with I believe 60hp, or a Jap spec 45hp that's been derestricted? Most RGV's in UK are Jap spec's, And for home market I still believe they have 45hp limit, and the 400's had 59hp limit. I doubt if Kawasaki will bring a none 45hp to our shores, shame really because 250 and 400 are so much more fun in the twisties. Just read what @Bianco2564 said, that is a shame, mind you can't fit my CBR400RR much now to many afternoon teas Mines a UK model so should be 60hp Know what you mean on fitting onto a bike like a CBR or RGV, I can only ride mine for about 30 miles and I have to get off it
  5. It will be A2 compliant Report said it wasn't coming here?
  6. It would be an interesting conversation between Lewis,Greta and XR. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/50176037
  7. Looks ace for a modern bike. What I read though its around 45hp,so much for progress. The RGV would have it for breakfast
  8. With you there.
  9. Yeah still commuting here, that's why I bought the scooter. Reasonable weather protection and I'm not fussed if it gets dirty. Will use it all winter except for the icy ,snowy days if we have any.
  10. I've got a set of Alpinestars one piece, bit like this but an older version. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_cat/166 I have worn them in very heavy rain and not got wet. They roll up very tightly and small enough to pack in a backpack or under a seat.

    Blown fuse

Ha, the reverse slide reminds me of our neighbour a few years ago. Him and his son had a KX80 they used to blast around the field out back. It wouldn't start so they mucked around with all the usual suspects Inc the carb. It still wouldn't start from kicking so they decided to bump it, it then started and revved it knackers off and sent him full tilt into a hedge.
  12. Me, for not checking Moto -Centrals Sunday opening hours.
  13. Welcome to the forum. There's a guy who lives near me that still commutes on his Super dream, see him most morning's around 7.30. Good work so far
  14. If he had made the disc from a dinner plate I'd have been more impressed.
  15. I tried to change the tyres on the scooter a couple of weeks ago, not a hope. Tried breaking the bead with a big vice without success. So stopped wasting time and went to a local car tyre place where they changed both tyres, balance and disposal of the old ones for £30.
  16. Done all of that save the ferry back, we like walking, looked into the Harley but by the time it added up all the extras for me and the wife it became a bit prohibitive, we near end of the holiday now so the other half is spending in macys Have you been to Laguna Seca?
  17. Dont want to trivialise the subject but reading this website on gun violence reveals the staggering number of people killed and injured in the USA. https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/
  18. I have a multi bike policy for 4 bikes , the max no. on one policy, with Carole Nash and a separate one for the scooter. No big deal to set the multi bike up, usual phone call with my details followed by all the bikes. £320 fully comp for this one for R1,RGV, GT380 & SS. Scooter on its own with no NCD was £70
  19. Our 5 year old grandson doesn't want to ride in Nanna's "boring old diesel" BMW but wants to go in Grandpas fast petrol car (an M3).
  20. Dear Greta, Just wanted to run this by you as the whole world seems to value your opinion these days. I was a bit concerned over my carbon footprint so decided to change from using tea bags to loose leaf tea. With this change I figured the saving would allow me to continue riding my RGV ; l calculated one saved tea bag would be worth one mile of riding my 2 stroke race rep. By the end of the month I should be able to do about 30 miles, I'll then switch it off and push it home. It must be really tough being this green, I bet you can't wipe your arse without someone pointing out that 20 rare Peruvian Otters died to make that roll of Andrex? In the meantime, get a real job,pay your taxes and scrape a living like the rest of us. All the best, Ian.

    Oops

Yes......like the angular 80's styles look weird now. Whereas what retros do exist are always based on 70's designs! What they won't be able to recreate is that 2-stroke era.
  22. How do you define the sweet spot to the inexperienced? May not matter so much if a non critical component but what if its a caliper bolt or suspension mounting? A calibrated torque wrench properly used to the manufacturer's spec for that fastener will take the guesswork out of it. If the thread is knackered and doesn't hold the torque then it needs repairing or replacing Norbar do a good range of wrenches at reasonable cost.
  23. There was a recovery truck on site loading two bikes on while supervised by the police, got the impression they were being impounded.
  24. https://caffeineandmachine.com/ Would seem a bit more geared towards cars but still a fair number of bikes were arriving. Certainly worth a visit for any petrolhead.
  25. My bad. I really wanted to write; "People in Marmaris Turkey mostly ride scooters and don't give a toss about their wellbeing" but it wouldn't fit.
