  1. Ouch! Sounds pretty gross! Did you take a picture of your eye before you went?
  2. And yet you post a link to it? Hehe, didn't think about it like that. It was just supposed to be an informational. Maybe there's something going on in my subconcious that I'm not aware of. Just to clarify, I have no sympathy with Gaddafi. My sympathies lie with with the victims of his regime not only for them but their families loss at the fact that he has probably taken some answers to questions about attrocities his regime was linked to with him to his grave. Life goes on and hopefully this will be the start of something better for the Libyans.
  3. I can agree with the treating them with respect argument but its more the display of images on major news networks that I'm interested in getting views on
  4. But do you agree with gratuitous display of the deceased persons body being dragged around bloodied? Is it really in the publics interest to see the body maimed and displayed for all to see? I don't have children but if I did I wouldn't want them seeing images of that kind.
  5. Yes, I watched it on there. Unsure if it's still available though.
  6. Well they've got him and good riddance too but do we really need to see his bloodied body being displayed all over the BBC news? Thoughts please... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-15389550
  7. There's no option for I have a bike but use of the other half's car! Well strictly speaking the bike is off the road so I'm using a pedal bike at the mo!
  8. There are certain conditions that he can serve notice primarily if he is going to sell the property. Even in that case, normally the property will be sold to the new owner with the knowledge that there are existing tenants and that once the property has exchanged then the new owner may serve notice. If what you say is true then he can't serve notice on you. I'm not too sure what the deal is with a 12 month contract whether he can serve you with a notice to leave after 2 months. What reasons has he stated to serve eviction notice? In any case he would be in breach of contract and you'd be entitled to pursue via the law. Think you do really need to see the CAB though to get some proper informed advice.
  9. Well I managed to watch through it all and it doesn't come anywhere close to the British one. I've yet to see the Aussie one.
  10. Well me bike's off the road so missed yet another forum meet Neil, I'm a little surprised that you've been made to feel like that. I'm sure those that were dishing it out only meant it in jest and will take onboard the request to stop. Keep riding and enjoying it mate. Everyone has their own style of riding. Some like to imagine they're Valentino Rossi and others just enjoy getting out for a bimble in the fresh air. There isn't any need for ridicule.
  11. I remember being in the school team at around the same age and only getting picked to play about twice in the whole season. Admittedly, I was crap! This taught me a valuable lesson to either practice more or stick to what I was good at and that whereI might not have the best skills for one sport, I far excelled at others (tennis, badminton, swimming) so I pursued those more. I think we focus to much on being fair with children rather than teaching them that life isn't fair and that perserverance and practice help you to get what you want.
  12. I hope they make the change to 80. After having ridden a fair few miles round Europe this summer I think they've hit the nail on the head. 80 seems to still be fairly fuel efficient and gets people around faster. I think the problem in this country is driving attitudes. On the continent and in ROI, the norm is that if you see someone coming behind you who is evidently going faster than you, move out of the way and let them past. They also seem to be more willing on the continent to pull into the overtaking lane if you're approaching a slower vehicle and in most instances, slowing down to let you in. They probably do this in the knowledge that once you've performed your manouvere, you'll get out of the way again. In this country, it seems to be the case that if you see someone going faster than you, the attitude is to enforce the law yourself, get in their way and slow them down. I think if everyone was a little more conscious about their surroundings and the attitude changed to a more relaxed one as to people overtaking then 80mph should not pose any further significant danger.
  13. I have the Garmin Zumo 220. Was fantastic going round Europe. Found most places quite easily and the Mapsource program that you get to upload routes is really good. Has lots of good information on the device itself although it does record your top speed. Not good I guess if you get pulled over!!! The screen was clear enough most of the time and the instructions are good although I turned it off as it kept cutting out the intercom! I also think it's a bit cheaper than the 660 if you haven't bought it already.
  14. Happy belated birthday Rosie!
  15. Hope you're having a good time Neil! Seabluegal stalking you?!?
  16. Could we have an undecided?!? I'm not sure really. I think it's sad that a community, even if illegally placed, is being dismantled. In an age where a lot of people barely speak to their own neighbours I think this is a sad loss. Adversely though, they are there illegally and as such really should be moved on. The only problem is, where will they go and what site will they occupy next. It just seems to me as though they're moving the problem elsewhere rather than resolving it. Maybe re-evaluating my answer gives me the opinion to say no they shouldn't be moved. I suppose some very clever council official has though about all of this though...
  17. My grandfather passed away yesterday morning. At the age of 96, he'd had a good and interesting life and with the way he was suffering, having always been strong and able I think he's probably in a happier place now. Anyway, with the loss came the questions that inevitably do after something like this and one of the things I've noticed in the last couple of years is that it seems more and more people close to me are passing away. Is this just a symptom of my age (I'm approaching 30) and that others around are getting older now or do these events appear in blips to people personally where a particular generation will start passing but then a gap appears before the following generation starts the cycle again? I'm just interested to find out others experiences as I know we have a range of ages on the forum.
  18. I've voted to keep anonymity. As mentioned before, it's quite easy to track people down via IP addresses and such things if they've done anything they shouldn't have so you're not really completely hidden from the outside world.
  19. If it's not bulls**t then I can recommend Farnborough in Hampshire. £800 pcm will get you a 2 bed house or nice 2 bed flat but probably not garage. Commute to London isn't bad at all. 35 mins on the fast train and up to 45mins on the slow train with services every 15mins during peak periods. Roads locally aren't bad and to get out into the countryside it's only a 15min ride to find some lovely roads.
  20. Up and down Vicki, twice! Didn't have room for the sleeping mats and sleeping bag so attached a rack to the top box! This is what it looks like when fully loaded! I'm off to enjoy Milan now! TTFN!
  21. Up the top of the Furka Pass this morning
  22. I only ride for fun now really so most of the time I'm above 35mph so it doesn't really seem worth it to me. Maybe if I was still commuting then it would be worth it. I'm hoping that on my travels I won't have too much slow riding! I also feel the cold quite a lot so it would have to be over 25C here for me to wear it which doesn't seem to happen that much. I think the tank bag will be of more use to me.
  23. One of my housemates has a mesh jacket (I hadn't noticed before) so I gave it a go the other day when it was scorchio outside! Must say that I found it good at low speed but once I was up to about 35mph that amount of air it let in was comparable to my normal textile jacket without the lining and all the air vents open... Think I'll be investing in a tank bag with my vouchers instead!
  24. Has anyone done the ITIL V3 Foundation course? If so, did you do it on a face to face course or online?
  25. Sooo many things 1) Live in a house with a garage within half a mile of the coast 2) Get paid enough to be able to afford to live in said house with garage and still have spare change at the end of the month 3) Learn to windsurf properly 4) Learn to kitesurf 5) Learn to scuba dive 6) Get my private pilots licence 7) Learn to glide 8) Learn to hanglide 9) Go traveling more on the bike 10) Get a job closer to home 11) Get a jetski 12) Get a superbike 13) Go sea kayaking off the coast of New Quay in Wales and off the Orkney Islands during the summer to see the wildlife 14) Go see the RAF planes doing they're training round the Mach Loop in Wales. 15) Have enough money to learn how to fly a Spitfire in Oxfordshire 16) do all the other things I've not mentioned here!
