Back on topic having had the biscuit and Babylon 5 diversion which was impressive even for here Biggest issue with wet belts is the whole design, running the belt in the oil, what ever causes the wear is secondary, because once you have bits of rubber clogging up the oil intake your doomed, timing belts snap and wear and bits came off them but they didn't cause engine wide damage before they went and you stood some chance, it's a silly idea and makes changing the belt a bigger job. Cars now are 10yr and then classed as end of life it's ridonculous
