  1. Grubb screws are usually to lock the pins which are eccentric so you can adjust the door slightly, usually seized solid, if the pins have Allen recess on top of hinge pins it should have grub screws, if non it shouldn't have. Sounds like an older door hopefully it's not hook bolts lock strip.
  2. I'm not a fan of the cylinder tops but other than that it's a bloody good looking bike Ps Is that cheddar gorge
  3. How much damage do you want to make to the door. It's hard to guess without seeing it, if the lock strip has fly out straight bolts and the hinges are exposed you can slice through pins with angle grinder. If the lock unlocked but the handle won't move, remove handle and spray where ever you can with wd40, into the internals of the lock, leave for a bit and wiggle lock back and forward and tap with hammer at same time. If lock barrel has gone it usually only fails from one side, can you feel any weight on the mechanism while it's turning, sometimes locking and unlocking a few times with oil added will help free a stuck spring. If a spring has snapped or something on the lock strip has come apart or is stuck solid it can be a pain. If it's got glass and or a panel and the lock strip is not hook bolts or locking rollers you can remove the glass and or panels and it gives a lot to play with to try and prise the door open. If it's the lock barrel drill it out, drill it just below the key way till your through all the spring tumblers, hoover out and use screwdriver in lock. All else fails, recip saw and a new door One of my last jobs before crimbo was lost keys on a security lock and no access to the inside of the property
  4. I've yet to get to the Highlands and not have a smile on my face.
  5. Astra vans are the fastest on the planet by association your a high risk
  6. Direct line as a group profit dropped from over 500 million to just over 32m from 21 to 22 but that includes all insurance, they will get profits back up and we will pay for it, that's a certainty.
  7. Breathing will affect the insurance, it takes very little to write a bike off, before and after pics if it's been repaired would be a good guide, but may not show everything, try a quote it's the only way you will find out re insurance
  8. Insurance companies are a necessary evil. I got a quote for new car, old insurance wouldn't insure it so they waved cancellation fee which was great, got a small refund. New insurance gave me a quote online but it wouldn't let me pay, after multiple attempts it said call us, nope can't and won't insure imports, really your website says you do. Nope stopped 2yr ago, but I know someone who has insured one with you said i, you can't we don't insure them, it went on like that till I almost lost the will to live, when suddenly he decided that they did insure them but it would be more than the online quote, sod that I can get another company to do it for only £10 more than the online price, ohh ok we will match the online price and give you free legal aid wtf, they are all mental.
  9. Please keep to the pics and posts for the challenge, everything else will be deleted.
  10. @StuDeserves a knighthood for keeping @Tiggieon his toes, lord knows it's a hard job the amount of time he spends falling over
  11. Happy new year to you all and a big thanks to all the users who make this the place that it is.
  12. Been bright and sunny here today, few bikes out today.
  13. Be more interested in seeing how the rest holds up.
  14. The thing with buying any bike is it has to be right for the one buying and riding it.
  15. I would be doing air filter and plugs, tyres personally I would be sticking some new on but they are probably fine to get it through MOT and running in a bit to see if anything else pops up. Give chain a good inspection for sticking links.
  16. Welcome or welcome back
  17. Cause the police are too busy wearing rainbow armbands and attending evening pray to enforce any lane discipline. That and people are twats.
  18. If it was 8 seat and under and his fully comp covered other cars he would be covered is the bit I'm confused by, having just bought an 8 seater I can confirm it's a car
  19. Upto 8 seats is a big car, you can drive a 9 seater on car licence if your driving it for an organisation school etc after that it's pcv license @John636 your best bet is try to get the decision overturned. If your ever asked in the future have you had a policy cancelled your legally and contractually obliged to say yes, this goes for car or bike or anything road going, if you don't and your in an accident and they find out your it again for any costs. Try Adrian flux or contact insure 2 drive, they will find policy's for people with cancellations, don't know if they do bikes. You may need to look for a local insurance broker, rather than comparison sites, they will have knowledge of where they can apply to, your going to pay more either way. A few forces are starting to clamp down on antisocial behaviour.
